Roomies and friendships

So I'm coming from kind of far and I don't really know anyone who's working at the park. For those of you that have lived in housing how did you go about the roommate situation or did you just wait until you got there and let CP place you randomly?

Also I'm looking forward to working but making friends as well.! How easy was it to make the transition into housing and make friends? (I usually get along with people easily and I know everyone's experiences are different but I'm curious about other people's experiences)

Well, you can start getting to know people by joining the Park Operations group on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/455851091146572/) and there also is a Roommate Finder group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/307795175928386/)

Every year, I've figured out who I was living with before going to the park. It's just a lot less stressful than dealing with random roommates who you don't get along with. People at Cedar Point are very friendly, and your crew will probably become your second family.

I would definitely suggest to try and find someone who is in the same situation and you and talk to people and get to know them before you go ahead and just room with a random person.
That's what I did my first year, I was sure to talk with my room mates as much as possible before I processed in and that way it was less awkward and sort of like we had already met.

I went in completely blind. I was placed with two random people. They were both real chill. I ended up living with one of them last summer as well. I guess it's just the kind of luck you get.
