Rollerblading

Wow, 60 degrees in MI. Good times . . . got me thinking:

Do employees ever rollerblade at the park, before or after it opens, or something? Rollerblading is fun, and I don't think I can go 3 months san-rollerblades.

If you think high schools cannot handle a production of Les Miserables, think again: Garber High School, Essexville, MI. Rich school that I didn't realize existed until last night.

Yeah, I love rollerblading too, but I have never seen it happen before. Actually, I think the park frowns against those activities, probably because of liability or something (if you fell). But if we can, I'd make a few laps around the park with ya!

Yeah we can start the Roller Blading club. Shoot, if they let you run around (as in jog or whatnot) before the park opens, I don't see why we couldn't rollerblade.

Oh my. . .NBC's Must See TV Thursday was absolutely amazing. . . I am speechless!

You aren't allowed to jog inside the park before it opens; there is a specified route that emplyees/guests are asked to take. It should be in your Employee Guidelines manual. I assume the same rules apply to rollerblading. Off-Point, there are sidewalks everywhere, so this isn't a problem.

Lalala OK sorry, :) I don't have anything training-esque from CP yet. But that's good that there are lots of sidewalks off-point. Rollerblading is good for the old legs.

Hey -- not a problem...glad you asked! That way you would know whether it was a good idea to haul your rollerblades all the way to CP or not. Those things take up space in the car!! (Of course, depending on where you work, your legs will probably get a lot of exercise anyway ^_~).

Oh believe me, I am lugging them. They are always in the trunk of my car. You never know when the perfect time to rollerblade will pop up. I will be bringing them for sure! Seriously, think upper legs. But I do know that I will get plenty of exercise this summer, I am looking forward to that as well.

I have a pair of K2 Backyards that used to be awesome, but now they kill my feet. I'm going to bring them along anyway and see if I can get some use out of them, maybe sell them....

I consider rollerblading a sport, ( :) ), and not knowing anything about sports, I don't know the brand of my rollerblades; however, they do come with a great story:

My brother had these expensive blades, because he is like that. Well, due to a defect, he injured his leg pretty bad. And there was legal action taken! And there were out of court settlements! And, along with money, he got a new pair of their top-of-the-line blades. . .but since he had a freakish leg, he didn't want them, and I got them for my birthday! :)

And I know I don't do them justice. . .but it's fun pretending to be sporty. I can't wait to bust them out!

If you want a place to go rollerblading, you could go to Osbourn State Park. I have only been past there but people have told me that they have a paved walking path. Its only about a 5 minute drive from Cedar Point.

60 degrees in MI...Its 75 in Ohio, Great times;)

Do they have a Skate Park in Sandusky? One with half pipes, quarter pipes, rails, and fun boxes?

I've seen many park service employees at Knotts Berry Farm skate. I actually now work for that department. Orientation is saturday. I'll ask how they get to do that.

Emu, I have never seen one nor heard of one in Sandusky, but there very well could be one somewhere. Once you get to the park this summer, just ask around or even ask some of the local kids that work at the park. That is of course if no one on here can say for sure if there is a skate park.

Up here, I go to Stony Creek Metropark to go inline skating... just went to day, first time since last summer, and boy do I hurt!

I'd check in to parks located around Sandusky. If possible, I recommend one like Stony Creek. With the lake in the center, it provides for cool breezes when you pass it, along with a place to swim after you're done, and the wildlife just standing there doing their thing as you skate by is really neat.

But before going to any park, either check the web site or call in to see if inline skating is allowed (or if they even have a paved bike path), and if protective gear is required or simply recommended.

You know there's nothing good on TV when you're desperate enough to specifically look for infomercials.

There's supposed to be a decent skate park in Cleveland, not too far for drives on days off! I dont remeber seeing one in sandusky though!
