They took those off after they shot off into the lake/pond next to dragster one day.The next couple days they started taking them off the remaining trains then that winter they worked on takin the rest of the theming off the trains except the paint coat.
Are you serious?, I thought it was just a weight issue.

I was somewhat shocked to learn that CP "laid off" 6 ride mechanics this season. I was told this by a CP "union employee" who also said "you didn't hear that from me". I guess they did this to cut back on the budget. So if this is true, it may be that the rides are not getting the preventive maintenance as they should, leading to more breakdowns.
So looking at the coaster issues at CP this last year, how many could be contributed to less preventative maintenance and how much to new technology or just unpredictable breakage?
My guess would be its not so easy to make the direct correlation between staff reductions and current issues.
I have no idea how many maintenance people are employed by CP, but suggesting that rides are not getting the proper attention now also assumes that the previous staff was the exact number needed and each employee was working at 100% for the required hours.
(That MAY not be true either.)

^???????? Am I the only one scratching my head?No offense, but I am totally confuzzled by that post. Can you please tell me what you're getting at?
It was confusing to write too ;-)
Basically I meant that with fewer staff it may take longer to finish the workload but it doesn't necessarily mean its not completed.
(I don't know)
Does that help? :-)
Yeah they did come off on one of the trains during testing, the extra row of seats was just a wierd plus to the situation. If you read some sites you can look Kingda Ka has the mounts for an extra row of seats but they don't use it. I may be wrong but I believe it was the blue train that lost its wheels first. But so we don't debate this anymore than it needs, heres a quote from wikipedia : "While braking during its inaugural year, one of the decorative wheels came off of the train and rolled into the adjacent lagoon. The extra decorations have since been removed and replaced with an extra set of seats to increase the number of riders and to keep the line moving at a steady pace."
And if you need any more convincing ADAM! WHERE ARE YOU?

No, I understood what you were saying. Actually, there was a very confusing post by Factory 81 between your post and mine. He seems to have since deleted his post, hence why you thought I was referring to yours. I'll delete my original post to avoid more confusion.
