I’ve heard from a few people that Cedar Point employees often take road trips to other parks.
1) Is this true? And if so...
2) How do they determine who can go? Obviously you can’t have too many or else we can’t operate our park.
3) Is it a bus trip or drive personally?
4) If I have a friend who works Halloweekends but not during the summer, are they able to go?

1. Yes this is true. There's official, park run bus trips to various places as listed above. In past years the only other park option was Kings Island.
2. Most of these trips are independent among groups of friends. Basically whoever you want to go, you all request the time off and go from there.
3. If it's a park run event there'll be a bus. If it's individual, you need your own transportation.
4. Anyone can go on the independent trips. They'll just have to come up with funding themselves.
Example: last year I went on a 5 day coaster trip hitting 3 parks and 2 DCI shows. Day one was Kennywood, day 2 and 3 were a half day at Dorney Park and DCI show in the evening, day 4 was Six Flags Great Adventure, day 5 was driving home. My friend and I contracted those days off with our manager, then booked hotels and went from there.

If it's a bus trip through the ESD (through Cedar Park / HR), they will have take a bus to get to the location. Along with the above trips, like alphagam92 mentioned, there is usually other day trips that they will take. They will have more information once the summer rolls around. They could go to a outlet mall, a baseball game, museums, etc.
