Road Trip Food Truck

Pete's avatar

There is a new Cedar Point Road Trip food truck that has been open for lunch on the beach by Friday's. They have a nice menu like blackened grouper and perch sliders and is a welcome and needed addition to the beach. The food is good and the truck had a real chef preparing food when I had lunch.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Glad to hear the food is tasty! This is a fabulous idea.

I'd be interested in seeing the complete menu. I'll second dj: this is a terrific idea.

I saw the truck on the Instagram pic. I was wondering what type of food they were serving. Good to know it's nice fare. How's the pricing?

That's a neat idea. I am scared though what the pricing is like..

Keep in mind that it's outside of the park proper. Prices tend to not be as horribly raging out there as on the inside, as anyone who's ever shopped at the snack shop in Breakers can attest.

When I was there Friday I saw the truck arriving at the park later in the day. It was funny seeing a big food truck driving down the midways.

Well Cedar Fair still owns the property. TGIF has HORRIBLE prices compared to a regular Non-Cedar Fair TGIF.

Yeah TGI Fridays has a pretty huge mark-up.

I must order the wrong things, because nothing I get at the Breaker's Fridays has ever been more than $2-3 above the menu price at any other Fridays. Even the beer is relatively cheap.

The food truck looks like a fantastic idea. The beach really needs something like that. I heard in the evenings they've been parking it inside the park near the Luminosity stage.

^I was thinking the same thing about the prices at Fridays. Both there and Famous Dave's, along with Panda and the Fridays on Cleveland Road do not seem to be priced more than a couple bucks above the average price at other locations.

I highly doubt this is true. Like others, I've found the out of park restaurant prices to be fairly reasonable and only a buck or two different from other locations in the same chain.

Count me among those who didn't notice any markup beyond a few bucks at TGIF. It's actually a pretty damn good value, all things considered.

Brandon

We always hit up TGIFridays on the beach because of the very reasonable prices they offer. Count me in as well.

I think Dave's gives you the best bang for your buck with Friday's being my second choice. The portions there are very nice. You wouldn't get nearly as much for the same money spent inside the park. There are individual items that are good deals in the park though. I finally took advantage of the Platinum Fry offer on my last trip. Buy one Chili Cheese Fry and get a Regular Fry and 2 - 16oz drinks free. I forget how much it was. But, it was a great deal that my friends and I split.

Are you saying he pulled numbers from a dark place again? Can't believe that would be true at all.
