Grady, I know that, but weight was one of the arguments that came up with going above 300 feet. The chain would simply be too heavy "prevents" a chain lift from being feasible. But that's just people not thinking outside the box.

I would have to think that the size of the links, the drive motor, and the gears would all have to be considerably larger to accomidate the extra weight. Or just use 2 like SD2000, either way works for me ;] LOL

Well, the total weight of both chains on Steel Dragon is important. The structure will need to be beefed up to hold both the chains and the train. Intamin's cable lift mechanism places a much lighter load on the lift hill structure, and that could add up to some significant cost savings.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

^ Exactly, SD2000 uses 2 chains :)
That should read used two chains. It's still SBNO as far as I know.
Ya, I heard it's some kind of superstition [sp] thing with SD2000, thats why it hasn't reopened, is that correct?

Well the ride had an accident and it's been shut down ever since.
Whether it's actually superstition or just the parking being overly protective of anything happening again, no one really knows. I would almost bank on the latter, though. They payed $50 million for the thing.
I know about the accident, I just remember reading somewhere that it is some kind of cultural superstition that has kept them from reopening.

^It's only a matter of time before your account is deleted by the way.
Anyways, I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a traditional sit down looper.
