RipCord/SkyScraper '08!

Ok, so let's try this again. Any current or new employees of RipCord for the 2008 season, feel free to introduce yourself on this thread and have intelligent conversation about all things RipCord or SkyScraper for the 2008 season.

My name is Steve, and I am an alcoholic. No, wait! Wrong introduction. NO! My name is Steve, and I'm the ATL for RipCord this season. Nicole Perez is the TL, and she'll be joining us in early June once she gets out of school at OSU. This should be the best season yet at RipCord, and with the addition of SkyScraper, I would like to firmly announce that we have the best two rides in the park sitting side by side!

Since we're starting this again, I'll introduce myself again. I'm Chris, and this will be my 5th year at the park, but only my first full season. I've worked Screamsters, admissions, a few rides, and the parade all during Halloweekends, but I've never done a whole summer. I'm looking forward to working on Ripcord. :)

Yeah working the summer is a whole different ball of wax than Halloweekends, but it goes by pretty quickly. I've found that the first month tends to go by a little slowly just because it's not as crowded, but once the actual summer hits, it flies by. Especially when you're having fun, which I can guarantee for everyone working at RipCord this summer :)

Guaranteed fun? I definitely landed myself the right job. :)

Yeah, ask anyone from last year how much fun the entire summer was. That's all we know how to do! You'll find that just working at a ride like RipCord is unique in itself simply because of all the guest interaction you have as opposed to most other rides in the park (no disrespect to any other rides, they're all great). Sometimes it can get a little aggravating if you get unruly people, but most of the time it's a lot of fun to be able to interact so closely with all the flyers. You won't be disappointed!

I don't know if I count but I'm lead at RipCord video. Hello to you all...

Yeah Kaman's counts as RipCord staff. Or at least I think they do, anyway. You guys interact with us enough every day, so I think we're all one big team. Looking forward to working with you this summer!

Yep I'll be back. I liked the 6 weekends I worked there so I decided to give a whole summer a shot. Looking forward to it!

One month till we returners process in!

Less than a month for me. I process in on the 4th. I can't believe it's getting to be this close.

It's gonna be quite a fun experience getting up there by the 7th. I have to move out of my apartment the 3rd, move all my stuff back home the 4th, pack up and drive up to Ohio probably the 5th, get anything else I need the 6th, process in the 7th. Then I get to work 50+ hour weeks!

My name is Randall. I process in on the 7th. This year should be "the bomb!"

I don't know if it can be the bomb, Kenney isn't coming back.

So who is excited to get some test rides on SkyScraper?

I would love to test ride a Skyscraper... They are AMAZING. But I'm stuck on Mantis, though it should still be Amazing.

You're not stuck on Mantis, but I see how it is...

^I am glad I got Mantis though... at least I don't have to be hunched WAY over to check belts. Mantis should be Amazing, don't get me wrong.

Don't forget that all male ripcord employees must grow a mustache.
