Skycoasters and Skyscrapers are great but nothing beats the rush from a SCAD tower. The one in Wisconsin dells is great, during the free fall you have enough time to scream, wonder where the net is, and scream some more!
tonymtdew - SkyCoaster is the same as Ripcord....just a bit taller. And I'm not sure how you can make any determination on its engineering based on a few pictures.
Goodbye MrScott
John
I tried to go on the 300 foot Skycoaster in Florida when I was there, since my hotel was right across the street. I went to ride the morning that I was leaving town (had an afternoon flight home) and wouldn't you know it, the thing doesn't open until 4:00. That was sad to stand under it and not ride.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
I've ridden the ripcord and vertigo... Ripcord is such a thrill, but I thought vertigo was terrifying... I just didn't like the harness system, the way the harness snapped in didn't 'look' safe, and as part of my ride my seat flipped upside down at the top, and the amount of "give" that the harnesses had was nothing short of terrifying. It's the only thing I've ever ridden in my life that I truly thought I may die.

Doh!
Challenge Park isn't open an extra hour like it usually is this Sunday.
And we usually hit a big rides line right at closing time to squeeze another ride in.
If it wasn't for my girl friends nephews birthday party I would go Saturday and surely find time to ride Ripcord. The Ripcord at Michigans Adventure is 30ft bigger, but you just get to stare at Muskegon county which isn't as cool as Lake Erie.
There is a "ripcord" in kissimee (spellcheck?) florida that is the tallest in the world. it is over 300 feet tall! INTENSE!! in the rest of the world it is called "skycoaster." i have personally been on three different skycoasters and my favorite is the one in kissimee. http://www.skycoaster.cc/

That skycoaster ride looks like the supports will topple over with a heavy load... Not exactly the brightest and most sophisticated engineering.
What the hell?
It's built by the same company (SkyCoaster) as Ripcord. It's in Kissimmie Florida, and has been able to withstand hurricanes. I don't see how that's not "the brightest and most sophisticated engineering." - Oh, I forgot, It's not at CP so it must suck.
