Hidden towards the back of the park, and actually outside the gates, is Ripcord. I have personally rode this dozens of times, and find it to be the biggest thrill at Cedar Point and one step above the rest. Many people think MF or TTD are the biggest thrills due to their height. But I like Ripcord due to it's style of ride (No trains, you're connected to two other people, you decide when the freefall is, etc.) Have any of you rode this ride? Was it worth your money? Did you freak out?

I have rode it and in my oppinion it is the best thrill in the park "even though its not in the park" It is the most intense thing ive ever done in my life. Its definitely worth the money!
Just remember to bring a clean pair of shorts after your first time riding it. CP should make a t-shirt that says, "I ripped one on ripcord."

After working on Ripcord for a summer, I can still say it is a bigger thrill than Slingshot at KI..... however, if you want an even bigger thrill, ride a Skyscraper... That is my top up-charge attraction, hands down.

^^You mean like they have at ValleyFair!??
Btw, did you ever ride that up-charge attraction CP had in like 2003 (but was removed when the pole collapsed?) If so, was Ripcord better than that too? (because whatever that ride was looked awesome, but I never got a chance to go on it!!)
Are you referring to Vertigo? Vertigo was removed prior to the 2002 season.

First... I didn't ride the Skyscraper at Valleyfair, but I rode the one at the Wisconsin Dells. I heard that the Valleyfair one isn't that great. I loved the one at the Dells though.
As far as the "collapsed attraction"... that is Vertigo. I hear it was a pretty good attraction, however I never got the chance to ride it.

BTW... if you really want a thrill on Ripcord (or any Skycoaster for that matter)... try a solo flight.... hanging up there by yourself is a remarkable feeling :)

Josh, I can't agree with you more. I remember back in '02 when I worked next door to you on the go-kart tracks, we were quite often used as test dummies in the morning. Being a solo flyer is the coolest experience. It's nice and quiet, except for your heartbeat. Next thing you know, your soaring through the air. It's truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Rip Cord is awesome, but I don't know whether or not it's worth the money. :)
Vertigo was so increadible. It was the only ride I'd ever encountered that scared the crap out of me the first time I rode it.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
.. neither does that after you've jumped out of a perfectly good airplane...

R.I.P. Fright Zone, and Cyrus along with it.
"perfectly good" airplanes are over-rated...I like a little air-filled turbulence in my plane trips!!
Btw, anyone know where a working Invertigo exists?? I'd love to go on that with my girlfriend!! The going up up-side down way looks awesome!
That skycoaster ride looks like the supports will topple over with a heavy load... Not exactly the brightest and most sophisticated engineering.
Vertigo was an awesome thrill in my opinion. I remember when I got on it they where running like a ten dollar special and you could choose your experience for when you shot I can't remember what each option did but it is a shame that ride isn't still around.
Six Flags Magic Mountain still has a "Vertigo" (S & S Sky Sling). I think it's the only one still running.
Here's a pic of Thrill Shot
