I was at the point last night and I was able to ride one of the last canoes around 8:00. The whole mood surrounding the area was relatively grim. I saw Tony and Tyler in the canoe with the contest winner. It was interesting to watch the last canoe go and sad at the same time. The only thing that I can hope is that Cedar Point had good merit to take out such a classic family ride. They better be putting in a award winning ride for everyone.
I was in the last boat before the contest winner. Kind of fitting because I was the second person ever to ride wwl when it opend years ago.
This is a sad day for me, that ride brings back many memories most good....some bad.
The good.....
All the times I brought a date on that ride(the closest thing to a tunnel of love that cp had). All the memories of my family together on the ride. All the memories of running back to the entrance to ride it again.
The bad.......
Working on the ride a few years back. It was the most boring job you could ask for...also the coldest.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I'm going to miss that view from the top. There was a great view of the entire park, and Sandusky Bay and beyond. Best of all, you were up there for 1 minute 15 seconds.
My son and I have ridden WWL more than any other non coaster at CP. It was truly our favorite "other" ride. It was relaxing.
I've seen countless families with young children on WWL. It was one of the only rides in the park the entire family could ride together.
I'm actually having a very difficult time accepting this change. I'm afraid the family crowd will not bother with Frontier Town anymore, and that could lead to the demise of Antique Cars after next season, which would open up even more space for the big bang everybody's expecting to go in there.
I'm really hoping CP bulids another flume type ride somewhere really soon. I know WWL had a humongous footprint, but a more condensed flume could be built that could be just as fun.
