Rididng rides in the park on your time off

How much time do you spend in the park off the clock. My first year I rode rides like crazy my first weeks there but by the end of the year I got a little sick of the place but still got some rides in. But I have always enjoyed this benifit of my job. The Magnum always finished number one on my list. I usually ride after opening shifts especially before a day off. sometimes I would only ride a hand full of rides but the Magnum always ususally was included.

I know alot of employees who NEVER spend time in the park when they are off duty and think its "uncool" to do so.

I also find that riding coasters and other thrill rides can be a great stress relievers.

Sorry about the mispelling but I think you get the idea of the post.
I'm gonna ride my brain's out!!

Don't exactly know yet, still waiting to hear from CP!!

LMAO...that could be twisted into something so wrong. :) I'm going to ride on my time off, definitely.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

My first year.

I don't know how sick of riding I'll get, I like coasters and all, but I probably will ride when the lines are very short and thats about it. I probably won't be riding MF much when I'm off since I'll be working on it a lot, but I'll probably hit just about everything else.

I'll have to find my niche when I get there. I know this summer is probably going to be one of the most interesting and dramatic changes of my life. I hope I like it as much as I think I will.

I was probably one of the few people that was in the park riding at just about every opportunity I had. One of the greatest things about working and living at Cedar Point is the ability to go into the park for an hour or two if you get off work early. Many times, late at night, the crowds have died down, the air is cooler, and it is possible to get a lot more rides than any other time during the day.

Some people say they get sick of the park. I guess I'm just weird. I take pride in working as part of the greatest amusement park in the world and then when I'm not working, I like to enjoy it as a guest. Sleeping in on days off is great, but probably 10 out of 10 days off, I was in the park at least for last ride on Magnum.

Instead of riding coasters, directly after work on hot summer days I enjoyed heading over to Soak City to float in the wave pool or on the river...that is the most relaxing thing in the world after being on your feet all day! Of course, I always was around for ride nights, and my sister demanded ^_^ that we spent plenty of quality time on Raptor when the park wasn't busy.

Even though I have been to Cedar Point around 10 times, I have never went to Soak City -- so I must say, I am VERY excited to go there and do everything watery and fun. Hehe I have to admit. . .yesterday, even though its like 15 degrees here, I put on my swimsuit. . . I can't WAIT for summer!

I was in the park almost every day to ride! Even if just for an hour or so. We knew roughly when quieter times were! The benifits of unlimited access. We also went to Soak City a lot! It makes a change from my schedule during the summer here. The 2001 summer I worked 2 jobs (and didnt make as much as last year at CP), and had no free time!

I myself have spent so much off time riding rides i have been there three seasonas and almost every day off I had I would ride rides(I always came up with an exscuse to go to the park.)It was especially bad my first season I was riding like a mad man that year although this year it will not be as bad.

My first year at cp was literally my first year:) I had never set foot in the park prior to being hired, so for, like, the first month or two all I did was play in the park! lol I thought that it was the best thing ever. I still like to go riding on my off days, but not nearly as much anymore.

it usually depends on who i am haging out with. i never spent so much time in the park on my days off in 2001. that was the year i spent so much more time riding rides with friends and stuff. it usually depends on who i hang out with.
I was in the same situation as "mom" *points up a few posts ago*. I came to work at the Point with some friends from school, and it was the first time I'd ever been there!! We processed in the first day and then my roommate and I went and rode Millenium Force, and Raptor (in the FRONT, it's like you're flyyyyyying...), I mean WOW, that was all I wanted to do for the next million weeks. And I never get sick of roller coasters, at least not Raptor or MF, so I think this summer will be like that too. Can't wait!!!!

I rode as much as I could my summer! In fact I would simply change my shirt inside out and ride. I never heard a word about it as it was not readily identifiable as a uniform. The windbreaker helped however. I still love the Gemini!
