Last year, most of the rides didn't get certified by the state until the day before the park opens.

Yea I wouldn't count on being able to ride any rides during training week. If you're lucky you'll get in a couple on Friday but that's it. Your best bet would be to take advantage of any free time early in the season and hit the park for rides.
The week before the park opens is what they call "training week." If you come in after that you aren't given more than a few hours of training before being put into a position and straight to the job. Rides "training week" days are usually 8/9-5ish. The exception is if you are on a ride that gets certified late on Friday and they keep you to practice.
Spinner, Marco, and Craig are my homeboys.
we start out with company training and ride training starts generally on Tuesday. you will learn everything about your ride throughout the week. You will do all of the proper paperwork so you can operate the ride and you will take the visuals test if you are on a coaster. You have to pass that to operate the ride.
the only time you would get to ride a ride during training week is if you get to test ride your ride.
