Ride Ops Clean-up

I was reading the job description of a read host and I saw that we had to clean up. What exactly do we have to clean? Thanks

The correct question to ask is, "What DON'T we clean?" You clean your ride and ride area. Sometimes you use a powerwasher(Big Bertha). Can you say Gumbuster?

Let's not forget to mention Puke. :)

I don't know about anyone else, but my favorite thing to do is powerwash! So much fun! Cleaning isn't all that bad and it has to be done, if it is not done, you will get written up, plain and simple!

That's funny! The enormous paper shredder the Park Admissions folk use to shred tickets is also nicknamed "Big Bertha." Wonder why this is such a popular name at CP? ^_~

Hey Frankie! Did you Date a cop last summer? I hope this isn't too personal?! And if you did, was his name similar to a piece of equipment that the Army uses?

Who didn't she date? ;) lol Just Kidding Gina

I didn't work in rides last summer, but I did all cleaning with my job at CP. I enjoy cleaning at CP, it's a fun experience for me, especially using "Big Bertha."

Ride op clean-up Is both Preseason & Post Seaspm Cleaning of All Ride Areas, Running rides for the Employees that are Returning to the Park from prevouis Seasons. Then during the Season it's Pressure washing Rides, Sweeping & Picking up Trash in the Que Line area and then in the Morning making sure all trash or any lost articles that where missed the night before is picked up and thrown away also bring down trash cans so they are emptied at night, and when someone has puked or anything of that Nature you will clean it up by using GLOVES, DISENFECT & WIPE the Ride Vehicle, and not allow a guest to enter that vehicle on it's next run.

There's also garbos where you walk under the ride with a set of tongs, a hard hat and a bucket. You pick up hats, cell phones, and other stuff that guests loose. You also pick up trash. It's done daily, sometimes twice a day.

LMAO...unfortunately, yes. But then again we also tend to find denchers, tupees, and occasionally pagers and black ray bans. Although we arn't resopnsible if anything is lost or damanaged (even if the ride op looses it.)

Also, let us not forget the massive cleaning done during downtime. All the rides in the park shut down last year for a tornado warning(is that correct?) for a couple of hours. You have to clean during downtime though because it doesn't look "professional" to have an entire crew sitting around doing nothing...but being a member of the Power Tower there were, of course, eight of us diligently scrubbing the same spot on a railing for twenty minutes until a sup came by and ended that little cleaning party. But I'm sure it's still the shiniest railing in the entire park :)

No, you can easily sit and do nothing, but you must have a scatter drill planned out. :-) (Gemini people know EXACTLY which day I am talking about.) Furthermore, I think it is important to note that the night Sabrina was looking for teeth, she wasn't looking for dentures, but rather a single TOOTH in five acres of sand. Honestly.

Nothing was funnier than when the girl jumped the fence and tried to find it herself. Durr.

For anyone who's wondering what Dan and I are talking about here's the post.

And, Dan, I had a good laugh over that day...A scatter of red and blue when we all got caught not cleaning. Good times.
