I got the Job for Ride operator and Debra from área 1 asked me if I work better with kids or adults. I said adults so what does that determine ? What ride I work at ? And do you have the option to work on Sundays since they said a work week is 6 days ? Thanks....

The kids/adults question does determine where you're placed, or at least has some influence on it.
And the 6 day week isn't a Monday-Saturday with Sundays off... It's more of a "You get one day off a week. What day would you like off next week?" You can pick any day, usually. During July, I don't think you can take Saturdays off, however.

2013: Co-Team Leader of Gemini/Maverick on Halloweekends Fridays
2014: Ride Supervisor of Thunder Canyon/Skyride/GateKeeper on Halloweekends Fridays
2015: Ride Supervisor of Rougarou
Considered adult locations in Area 1 may include: Gatekeeper, maXair, Wicked Twister, Raptor, Blue Streak, Cad Cars, and SkyRide.
Possible children locations are of course Kiddie Kingdom and Planet Snoopy.
I'm not sure where Ocean Motion, Cadillac Cars, Turnpike Cars, Giant Wheel, Troika, Midway Carousel and Calypso fall under since those seem to be family attractions in my opinion.
I get to pick what day I can take off ? That's awesome..Thanks a lot!

It depends on staffing, however. 8 people on the same crew can't have the same day off. In that case, some people wouldn't get what day they wanted. But just ask your TL for a specific day off and they'll see what they can do :)

So you could never work 7 days in one week right ? Cuz I heard.that there.was no overtime
2013: Sky Ride, Raptor, Gatekeeper
Oh there is overtime, it's just not time and a half. Seasonal employees are exempt from the standard labor laws. They can (and will when necessary) work you O-C seven days a week. This is more likely to occur early in the season and starting again in mid August. If they are sufficiently staffed then you'll work eight hours a day six days a week. Been there, done that.
Oh there will be some weeks where you'll be working all 7 days.

Here's another theoretical example in addition to working 7 days without a day off: Week 1, you take off Monday. Week 2, you take off Wednesday. You've still got your one day off a week, but you just worked 8 days straight.

I once worked 12 days before getting a day off once. I had a day off on a Monday the first week then I had a day off on Sunday the next (Monday is the beginning of our work week and Sunday is the last). Now granted the Sunday was a contracted day off so that was a bit on my hand because I had that day Contracted off. So don't worry that usually does not happen. So hope I did not scare you away. I mean on an honest note if staffing is low we might need to work a 7 day week but that only would happen near the end of the main season.

2013 Raptor
2014 Ride Supervisor of Ocean Motion/Midway Carousel
It's possible to work 7 days a week...but in Rides, they'll do everything they can to keep you from working over 79 hours in a week, because at 80 hours, standard time and a half kicks in.
So if I work 80 hours in a week, 40 of that is going to be time and a half.
I never knew that about CP since my rides were never early entry and I didn't OC everyday. I thought they just never did time and a half. So once you hit 80 hours a week, the 40 hours over you get paid time and a half? And if you work 79 hours a week, you don't get that time and a half?

That's true about Saturdays in July. But if they ARE CONTRACTED Days off, then that's different. I have July 20th & 27th contracted as off time.

Not entirely true. That may be how things are supposed to work, but I've worked over 80 hours in a week on multiple occasions and no time and half.
I was going to say, I'm fairly sure that's not true. No OT for seasonal workers in Ohio doesn't seem to have any loopholes like that.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

True. I was talking about having Saturdays off. Sorry for the mix-up. What ride are you working this year Ralph?
