Ride Op Hours

What are the hours for ride ops? Days off..etc, stuff like that.
1 day off each week, it might vary by week depending on the crew. Most team leaders will try to ask what day off you prefer and try their best to give it to you.

Shifts vary a lot:
Open = 9:25am (except for bigger coasters with ERTs, etc.)
Maybe until 6pm, 8pm, or Close (just like it sounds!)

Split shift: Open-1:30pm, then the afternoon off, back at 6pm until close.

This is pretty general, because a lot of the rides (mostly the bigger coasters) will vary the shifts to accommodate the long lines at the end of the day, since you'll be there longer.

For ops such as myself who only work during Halloweekends my hours were O-C---
I did a "cut back" 2x while I worked there to ride with one of my buds, and I was lucky to get those. Those are few and far between when CP only open weekends!!
Hated those 12-15 hour days so much last year
I'm doin it again this year!!!

Welcome back Raptor riders-how was your flight??
can you get in free on your day off?
sure can.....still have to wait in the lines though, no special access.
Your ID is free admission into Soak City too. Not any other special stuff in Challenge Park, just Soak City, but it is a lot of fun. :)

Well...I guess it all depends on where you work and the popularity of your ride. If you work a roller coaster or any "big kid ride," you probably won't get a cutback unless a monsoon hits. BUT, I was in Kiddy Kingdom last summer and got offered a cutback at least four times a week on weekdays. I think it depends where you are in the park too...The Kingdom is in the front, so all the little munchkins would terrorize us first thing then by 1:00 move down the midway to bigger and better things (Camp Snoopy :)). So after about 1:00 my crew would be carefully studying the interesting designs on the concrete made by fossilized chewing gum. Needless to say, when my TL offered me a chance to go home, I took it.
