Ride op

I plan to work at CP next summer after I graduate, before college, and I was curious about what would I have to do to get a Ride-Op possition in my first year?

Just fill out an online application from the Cedar Point website, www.cedarpoint.com , and indicate that you want to work on rides as your first choice. (They ask you for your top three choices and the least three that you would like to work) It's that easy! Hope this helps.
Hey InclInE LoOpEr, you're talking about 2002 right? I'm a junior this year and plan on working at CP summer of 2002 also.

A good trick is about 10 days to 2 weeks after you apply, give them a call and ask how your application is being processed, or ask to speak to Park Op. Tell them that you've applied, and that you want to work rides. I did this to get on the Iron Dragon, and they put it in right there. After all, they WANT employees to be where they want to work!

I think you can be a 'red tag' even if you are 17 as long as you have graduated from high school. We had a 17 year red tag last year with no restrictions. Unless this was because of a special circumstance (Carrie may know what I'm talking about!!) Did you really check into this??

You're right - if you've graduated from high school, you can work at CP if you're seventeen! Get that application filled out! :)

You have to be a high school grad and 17 or 18 to Ride Op.

Legal reasons involving Ohio Minor Labor laws..

Not true... Ohio law only requires you be 16 to operate a ride. Cedar Point's policy requires the older age. Not sure how they word it, but I think you need to be 18, or 17 and graduated from high school.

That's scary.. but I guess that also explains some of the kids who were just getting off thier toliet training who were running the rides at SFO last year...

At CP you have to be 18 - I don't think they make the exception that you can be 17 and a high school graduate - to operate the rides. I know you can work in park operations, but not on the rides as far as I know. Anyone have actual experience of doing it?
