I just had an interview yestarday with matt. and he hired me for rides. Im not sure what one yet since i don't have my contract yet. Just wondering who is doing rides. Even if you don't know which ride yet.
Hi there crazy gal...my name is kelly and this is my second year at Ride Ops at CP. Last year i was mostly at train but on MF mineride, magnum, white water landing this year i am on the White water landing. Matt is a great guy u might be working in the front of the park if u talked to him...if not ur contract will let u know..when are u starting?
Its long, hard, it never pulls out early and there nothing like a full load in ur station every 5 minutes....

I also had a phone interview for rides, but mine was with Chris Fike (sp?). It went pretty well, but I thought of some stuff afterwords that I probably should have said, but oh well! :) I told him I wanted to work on a coaster, but I didn't really get specific. I'm hoping for Raptor, MF, Magnum, or Mantis, but we'll just have to see what he gives me. Do the people that call you correspond to certain rides/areas of the park? (i.e. Matt is front of the park, etc) I keep looking in the mail to see if my contract is there, but so far nothing. Its only been about 5 days, so I'll give it a few more before I get worried! :)

Hello there matt. u will love working on magnum...and u start on my bday may 30th :) well let me ask u a question do u like hieghts...because they might ask u to walk up on the lift hill....
araohio@hotmail.com is my email. aol name is cryptchick and i am from cleveland
Everyone that works a coaster is required to walk the lift at least once in training, then you might be asked to do it on a regular basis as part of opening the ride in the morning or after a shutdown, walk guests down, etc. Magnum/MF especially, but no coaster is a good idea to work if you don't like heights! But the view... Wow, there's nothing better. Have fun, Matt!

MF doesnt have a lift no walk downs necessary....but yes you do have to walk lifts for training.....on all other coasters...
For those of you that will be working on Magnum you'll love it's a blast. Your ATL (assistant team leader) is a very fun guy and he's the easiest person to get along with. To all of you new hires good luck, have fun, you'll love it.

Haha, actually, "Are you afraid of heights at all?" is one of the questions Chris asked me during my interview! I answered with an emphatic "NO" just because I wanted to work a coaster! :) I'm sure it'll be scarier walking the lift than riding up it, but I can't wait for the view. I look forward to meeting everyone! I just wish my school let out a bit earlier so I could get there sooner! :)

Matt, I was hired by Chris too, and he told me I would be on one of the coasters, too. Haven't gotten my contract yet, so I don't know exactly which one. I don't get out until June 1st, so I'll be a latecomer as well, processing in on June 6th.
Mike

Cedar Point does try to hire people with longer contracts (makes the most sense), so yes, you have a really good chance. Honestly, I've never heard of them rejecting anyone! There are very few people to do the phone interviews and process the paperwork, so if they aren't getting to you right away don't stress over it, they will. As for all the "good" jobs - there are way more jobs there than you can imagine - you'll get one, don't worry. They will try their hardest to match what you requested on your contract, so it won't be a problem. You just have to be a little patient!
