Ride Nights and Big Bash

Can anyone tell me about ride nights and what's big bash??
just curious

Once a week they open a ride after the park closes for the employees for about an hour. Big bash is the end of the summer party they have all of frontiertown decked out and have games and food along with rides open

In 09 and 10, ride night were on Monday nights (it could change for this year, however). On ride nights, there will be either one / two rides open just for employees. It will be different from week to week - one night it could be let's say Magnum, the next week it could be Raptor, etc. But don't forget your ID. There is a bi-weekly newletter that is just for employees that is called Behind - The - Lines. It comes out on payday, and there is a calendar inside that tells you all the employee events that are taking place that month. However, this calendar is hanging in various places, such as the cafe, the commons store, and by wardrobe.

Big Bash is an event in August, and like Scot said, is in Frontiertown, with games, prizes, food, etc. It's really fun! The only three rides open are the Maverick, Wave Swinger, and the Skyhawk. There are different themes, so I really don't know the various themes.

Two more things to mention. One - there is a pamphlet that tells you various places around Sandusky that gives you a discount for being a CP employee. It is places like resturants, places to shop, things to do on your day off, etc. For example, in Sandusky, there is a Merry Go Round Museum that is free if you show them your ID. There is an employee discount day at Cedar Point. (It was one Tuesday's the last two years, but anything can happen this year). But, on employee discount day, CP merchandise is 25% off at Pagoda, Cedar Creek Trading Company, and Surf Shop (that's the store inside Soak City). All you have to do is show the cashier your ID.

In early August, there is a Merchadise Tent Sale. It's a wonderful day. This is where all the "damage" merchadise is sold to employees. Some of the items have nothing / very little wrong with them. For example, last year, I bought a hoodie that has a few small holes in the sholder that you really can't see, a medium size Snoopy that was missing his black noise (so I went to a sewing store and bought a black ball and hot glued it on), a Kings Island mug (nothing wrong with it), a t - shirt with a pen ink mark on it (it washed out), etc. Watch out for this event as well.

well say you process out before the big bash do you still get to come back to go to it or are you not allowed to do that cuz i process out aug 25th an i wanna go it sounds like alot of fun

I would think it would be mid august maybe cause i hear alot of people process out that time for school im out the 27th

To go to any CP sponsered event (ride nights, bus trips, soak city night, etc) you need a CP ID. When you process out, you have to give up your CP ID. Your CP ID is considered property of Cedar Point.

In reality, I have no clue when Big Bash is going to be for the upcoming season. The last two years, it seemed like Big Bash was the first Tuesday after the Cedar Point schedule goes to 11 - 9. I was looking at the schedule online, at CP goes to 11 - 9 on Aug 22. So you "should" be fine with the dates.

One thing you can do is whenever you see the August calendar, see when Big Bash is actually going to be. If it's later than your process out date, talk to your manager about your last day, and perhaps processing out the day after Big Bash, so that you can go???
