Ride Hosts

Okay...my friend is going to apply for the 2009 season...and he was wondering how many different rides you can work on a season....

Also, he is filling out the application right now...the question "Will you accept any job offer? (This will maximize your chance of employment.)" came up...he dosn't know if he should say yes or no. He really wants to be on a Crew for a ride.

the applications now are still for the 2008 season.

Well, I believe the "official" ride whore status is achieved at 11 rides, which took me just half the season last year, if we're counting every ride in Kiddy Kingdom. ;)

But you could probably work almost every ride in your zone and/or area during the course of the season, though I don't know if I would want to. I think my ride count is up to over 20, including Kiddy Kingdom and the Planet.

And yes, the applications are still for 2008. The 2009 apps won't be out until around January or February of next year.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

hear your having a great time....second one in the family to rock at Cedar Point! luv ya Mom

Jumping from ride to ride in your zone is not all that it is cracked up to be. When I worked at CP back in 1981, I worked on 3 different rides in Frontier Town. I wasn't able to feel part of one crew since I worked on each ride only 2 days per week. While I still made friends, I would rather have worked on 1 ride instead of 3. The next two summers, I worked on the CP & LE RR and had a GREAT time being part of just one ride crew.

^ Yeah, I'd go for a single ride crew too. You can really get involved with your crew members and form a bit of comradery (how the goof do you spell that word?)

314 ROCKS!!

i do agree though, it's much easier to get to know everyone on one crew then run around all summer operating every single ride. at least to me nothing was more annoying (sometimes) than finally getting one ride down and asking if i wanted to "take a break" and do something else for a weekend or "just next week" or whatever.

This question refers to any job offer in the park. For example, if you're top three choices are Rides, Parking, and Live E! Host, but you're called by a foods manager and offered a position, will you accept the offer. If you're only willing to work in rides, answer "No" to this question. If you just want a job anywhere, answer "Yes." This question doesn't refer to a particular ride.

Well, you are going to be cross trianed durring the season. For example, I started on Wildcat to Wicked Twister to Demon Drop to Gemini to Millennium Force to Matterhorn triangle (Matterhorn, Scrambler, Dogems) to Big Wheel triangle (Big Wheel, Troika, Space Spiral). I totaled in 11 rides. I started at Wildcat and was cross trained on other rides. I liked Millennium so I asked to be transfered there. It was approved so I from June to November 2nd, I was mostly on Millennium.

As for the 'Any Job' say YES! You never know if you will like the position until you try it! I was talking to my supervisor and she was telling me that all but one supervisor she has known have either started on a kiddy park or spent became a blue tag at one. Plus, in your interview they ask Adult rides or Children rides...

Anything else?
