If you are referring to the black at the base of some supports, that was done for Blood on the Bayou.

I like all of CP's coaster colors (including Iron Dragon-- I don't know why some of you don't like it.) They tend to use a lot of white and shades of primary colors (which I think is good for an amusement park). I would hate to see them repaint any of the rides with black or grey. That's something Six Flags would do. I also like GateKeeper being different shades of blue and Raptor being different shades of green.
I preferred the water slides being white, but the new colors are growing on me.
The colors are nice in the waterpark imo...but the new ones name isn't growing on me :P
Favorite color scheme for a flat is scrambler...it's simple, vibrant, and works quite well, especially lit up at night
Favorite coaster colors, probably now Gatekeeper, it is a very aesthetically pleasing coaster. I may not enjoy the ride as much as some but man it does look brilliant

Kinda off topic, but I remember hearing rumors that TTD was getting some new paint for 2014, can anyone vouch for this?
If I remember correctly, rides get repainted every 10 years, and this was TTD's 10th season. MF just got repainted about 2 years ago and it took a couple of off-seasons to do it.

I've heard 2 confirmations of it being repainted for 2014, but we'll find out for sure in the months to come.

Mean Streak should be painted with something that is highly flammable, while Magnum would be incredible if it was repainted with phosphorescent paint that glowed in the dark.
Yes. I do. I think it would be so much better. Here's a pic of what it would look like. http://s22.postimg.org/uh5kbhx0h/maverick.jpg
Maverick's shade of red isn't bad but I agree, the rust would fit in even better. It will also look better once the trees grow in.

Cedar Point makes no pretense of being a theme park, so I think whether something is thematically appropriate to its location really doesn't factor in, and never has. Did Corkscrew really relate to Jungle Larry's?
I always thought Pagoda Gift Shop was a reference to the Chinatown part of the old Earthquake ride, but have since learned it was derived from a pagoda that used to be around that area, housing the resort's post office.
And it's not the only park "guilty" of that sort of thing -- Great America has Superman and Batman coasters in Orleans Place, for example.
Tbh...I really hate the superman, comic book theming stuff...Superman @ SFFT...just downright annoying theming

They may claim they're not a theme park however, I seriously doubt they'd ever stick Super Himalaya back in Frontier Town if they needed to move it.
I agree, thedevariouseffect, there is no appeal for me and it seems too silly. Annoying is a good word for it.

Kind of off topic I suppose although it was briefly mentioned. Raptor is always covered in seagull crap. I can't think off hand of another ride so obviously covered. I wonder why they like that one so much better than the others.
I think it's so noticable on Raptor because of its supports. Unlike most of the other coaster at the park, it's suspended deseign require supports that basically create a perch. While regular above-track train coasters have supports straight underneath, inverts create perfect perches and spots for birds to sit on and consequently crap on.

^ I can confirm TTD will be repainted over the offseason.
During one of Tony's chat sessions, I asked and he responded yes to it.
Here's the tweet.
Me: @TonyClarkCP is TTD getting painted over the winter?
#TweetWithTony
Tony: That is the current plan. #TweetWithTony
