'Reserving' roommates?

If you want to room with someone who processes in later than you, how long can they hold a space in your room for?

They process in 6 weeks after I do, I know that's stretching it but could I switch rooms when he gets there if I wanted?

You could, but if they're processing in during June there probably won't be any full rooms open in commons, so you may be stuck in cedars.
