Requesting Days Off/ Switching Shifts

Hi! I have applied to work at Cedar Point over summer 2014, and did not remember to exclude my fiancees birthday from the days I will work! Will I be able to request that day off or be able to give it to another employee?

If your looking for one day off, for the entire time your employed, you can probably arrange something. exceptions may include july 4th and columbus weekend sat. They need everyone those 2 days.. Typically during the summer, Saturday's are the only day I wouldn't even bother asking for.Again this is not a 9 to 5 type of job. As people start to quit and return to school in august, your gonna be scheduled to work OC's (open to close) almost regularly (6 days a week).

If you know the day(s) that you will need off now, when you have your interview, just let your manager know that you will need said time off and they will add it to your contract. My first two seasons working in the park, I actually ended up having the fourth of July weekend contracted off, without any problems. If you don't know the exact dates now, when you process in just put in a multi-day request off form in with your hiring manager (your department office should be able to help you) and your manager will either approve or deny it based on staffing needs.

The only time that I could see this being any type of issue would be once everyone starts to go back to school in the end of August when staffing gets incredibly bad.
