I really really miss that badly. Went 13 times that year and I can't count the number of refills I got, 75 to 100 maybe? That was such a bargain and such a great idea. Quite sad to see that one go.

Getting back to the original question... The park doesn't make money on free refills.

During Coastermania, I (and a few other members of this site) pondered around the same question. We came up with the Idea of a small cup similar to the Coastermania cup (little 12oz cup) that was $20 for us people who go to the point a lot. Free refills throughout the season would be a major plus, but people who only visit the park every so often would stray away from it. It was nice to go up to a vendor and ask for a refill before getting in line.I would buy it :D

I remember talking about that, and you guys had a really good idea.

At Six Flags Great America you can get a $9.99 refill cup and pay one dollar per refill. They also have $6.99 cotten candy refill bucket and $5.99 cotten candy refill bucket. For once I found something that Cedar Point should do that Six Flags already does. Not that i'm happy about it. Mabye Cedar Point will start doing something like this.
1st things at Six Flags have changed, that refill cup now costs almost 15 dollars, and the refills coast 3 dollars. I don't remember if they do that cotton candy bucket but still.

Yeah. Unless a place sells Dr. Pepper, I drink water. Besides, if I start to get dehydrated I get a headache and it won't go away until I go to bed and get a good night's sleep. The free refills are a good idea though. From last year to this year I've noticed that the souvenir cups at Kings Island have degraded in quality. They used to be more solid and...souvenir like. This year I find myself wondering whether or not I should just keep it or throw it away.
ALSO. Am I spelling souvenir correctly? o_o
Yes you are spelling it right, and yes you are right the cups are degrading in quality, I got the new Maverick cup this year and I can easily bend it where as the ones at like Busch Gardens, it takes two hand to barely bend it at all
Disney has the right idea, They made a bucket that can be used for popcorn or for cotton candy and it is like 4 and the regular is 3 (btw im not exactly sure of those values) They do souvenir cups for drinks.
The other thing they can do is what cruises do, you pay a fee and they give you a sticker that says a coke product. Say for example Sprite. So for that whole cruise anyone with a sprite sticker could get in essence "Free Soda Pop." Now the way it could work for Cedar Point is pick a ride put it on a sticker and make people pay 30 dollars. So they get the sticker and a cup then they can refill any cup during the year or get a 32 paper one for free. Your probably asking whats the catch in my plan, well its that it would only work with season pass holders which could work in CP good interest because to get this good deal for soda they would have to have a season pass. So what do you guys think? *** Edited 7/3/2007 10:04:42 AM UTC by StrataCoasters***
