Sky Slide was DA BOMB! :)

Gemini 100- 6/11/01

My first time was 1976 - the year I moved to Sandusky. Corkscrew was brand spaning new and it scared the hell out of me. (I was 11)

The next year I was tall enough to ride the Jumbo Jet. What a ride that was! No seat belts, the long ride to the top, the speed. Loved it!

1998 was our first trip. it was so amazing coming ver the causeway and driving around to Breakers.

our room had a view of the park and we could hear Maggie going up the lift. we took a nap for an hour (to this day i can identify Maggie's lift by sound alone) and went in for Starlight. it was June and warm but not unpleasant.

first ride was Maggie, as she was RIGHT THERE. amazing. Power Tower was the baby that year, but we skipped it. spent lots of time with Blue Streak and Gemini.

spent the next two days falling in love with the park and the apmosphere and the friendly ride ops and the wonderful food at Bay Harbor and Midway Market.

we have never been able to recapture the magic of that first trip...probably cause we're always dragging someone along withus to show them how GREAT it is there!!

maybe this year we'll go just us again....

September 12, 2009---my 36th U2 show!

Early 80's... I remember being in kiddie Land and I must have been the only kid there as the Ride Op carried me on his back between the rides... from the monster trucks to the 4 wheelers... It was great. My mom was smiling at me and that is my earliest memory...

My first big kid ride was Avalance Run. I must of dragged my dad on it 3 or 4 times... I think that was the year Iron Dragon opened. I recall a huge line and me having to go to the bathroom when we were about 1/2 way through the line. This was back when the que was in front of the station in front of the Giant Wheel..

Good times.

Loved the Jumbo Jet....... First use of Magnetics to get a train to the top....Fast and no seatbelts - Insurance Nightmare in this day and age though. The Radar dish on top would light up at night. You could see it for miles from the Point.

Please remain seated until the ride comes to a complete AND final stop.....

Sounds like Jumbo Jet was a great time!

I remember riding in the General Lee or the cop car from Dukes of Hazzard. In the kiddies section (Kid Arthurs Court, anyone?? I used to LOVE the rope-net thing and balls you jump in)...instead of Monster Trucks the cars were themed with the Dukes of Hazzard. Amazing how much I loved going around and around in a circle pushing the little horn that made the maddening sound! Eeh eeh eeh eeh eeh eeh eeh eeh eeh eeh.....around...and around...

I don't remember what year it was (forever ago), but I have like these fuzzy flashes. I remember walking in and seeing the "Demon Drop" marquee-style sign, which really creeped me out (I know I was extremely young, and to me that thing looked like a deathtrap). I remember seeing the Rotor and thinking it was a stupid ride intended to seriously injure people (nowadays I'd looove to go on one :( ). I also remember in vivid detail the absurd, huge, mess that was Raptor. I think it was the year that Mantis came out, so I remember the big sign at the front gate. I also faintly remember some coasters like Corkscrew, but to me they weren't really a big deal (I was too busy enjoying kiddie kingdom and the arcade =D ).

First ride I have no clue, it's one of those ones in Kiddie Kingdonm.
