Relations with Intamin

Employee ride-night comes to mind. We had to have our ride night early, because Raptor couldn't run in the weather. That's pretty convincing evidence.

Yea, one nite out of an entire season is convincing. And I do remember riding Raptor on the ride-night, how funny. I guess since you're 3rd in charge you know everything about every B&M made, silly me.

That's totally not it (being 3rd in charge).

If yoy will remember, Raptor was supposed to be in May, but it was postponed because of the weather. That's all I was stating.

I'm not getting pulled into a fight with you over this. It's so stupid. I was just stating my opinion (which always gets blown out of proportion on this website). Anyways, I'm out.

Maybe it was postponed because the weather would have bothered the people more than the ride.

I have been on MF during some really bad weather back in 01. It was during our breaktest or whatever. It was raining/sleeting really hard and up there at 310 its not preaty. So i dont think the weather would of bothered the many crazed cp employees.

I don't remember what the ride manual says, because I only saw it once, but Raptor it's something about a combination of wind speed and a very specific direction. The bottom line is that it has never caused it to be down enough to cause less wear than Mantis, especially considering Raptor cycles trains almost at a two-to-one ratio to Mantis.

Brian is largely full of crap. Ride Kumba at BGT and tell me it "has problems." While you're at it, why don't you count the number of B&M's that are actually more than ten years old before you make such ridiculous claims. Oh, and survey the dozens of companies that own the rides too, so we can trust that you can base your statement on something.

That's a very harsh statement for my opinion. I don't appreciate you calling me "full of crap". I don't blast you for your opinions, and I would appreciate the same respect. That is why many people do not care for you. But that's ok.

And yet "many people" like you just keep on coming back here.

You're stating things as fact, not opinion, and when people do that, I call them on it. If it's just your opinion then say it's your opinion. Don't state it as the gospel unless you're willing to back it up. The Internet is full of crap, and people like me aren't afraid to say something when the Crap Detector 3000(TM) goes off.

Jeff I know that you are Macho Man on this site and all, but really that is a little harsh. I mean we are all human, we all make mistakes, we all don't agree with what other people say, and we all have our own opinions. So why be a di*k about it, I mean does that make you a bigger man? Thats just my opinion. I just think you should respect others opinions, since our hits do make your paychecks! Anyways back to the topic....

Well next year will be 10 years for Raptor. Well see how well it goes (which I don't think it will be unusually bad). I'm just stating my opinion.

Jeff. As far as I can tell, I stated quite clearly that my views were my opinion. If you read the previous comments, which I included here, you would notice the fact that I used the word "opinion" and "my experience". That's funny, because you said that it wasn't my opinion.

Now, back to the topic...

On the subject of B&M's...They are usually well run, but after there 10th year, they begin experiencing major problems, no matter how well the park keeps them up. It just happens.

Sorry, Brian, but you DID state the above as if it were a fact.

Well, he was probably talking about a majority of B&M's. It doesn't mean that Raptor will suddenly suck next year. CP takes care of the rides, and most of them run very well. Is that nonsense, Jeff?

It's still nonsense, yes, because I'd wager that he hasn't been on the majority of B&M's. I've been on at least half in North America (never counted, it's probably more), and I know Greg has been on a lot more than I have, including many in Europe.

The point stands that Brian is not qualified to make generalizations about the rides' performance.

I meant about CP caring for the rides. Sure, TTD has downtime and stuff, but most of the park's rides run really well.

Everyone has their own opinion. I have been wrong about things, and so has everyone, but give people a break. I like your site, but everyone has a right to say things about rides.

Yes Jeff give people a break no one bashes you for your claims.Im sorry we havent ridden oh so many rides like you.I guess since you own this site it makes you able to bash people for there opinions now come on, I mean as much as you do it I bet you feel more manly, it doesnt really matter if your owner or not.Just like yourself proclaimed "People that say they know, don't know" (TM) or however it goes. Id like to say one thing Mr. know it all if I didn't know something about MF in 1999 why did you have to rat out the silver that told me? I only told you her name because she was getting a new job anyways. Yes I knew as much as you did and you hated to hear that..so stop acting like such a jerk and respect Brians opinions.

Get over it... welcome to the Internet. The word "bash" comes up everytime some crybaby puts their opinion out there and can't back it up. You're entitled to all the opinions you want, but if you intend to share them with the world you should be ready to defend them. If that bothers you, it's time to click Start -> Shutdown and go make a snowman.

And I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about regarding ratting out silver tags. I didn't know anything about MF for sure until the weekend before the announcement.

As quoted in the Raptor manual

.."Raptor is not designed for operation in steady rains or high wind conditions. Rain affects the ride's braking system while high wind may slow the trains speed significantly."

"If the wind speed is greater than 20 mph, an empty train must not be dispatched. If wind speed is greater than 30 mph, Raptor must be closed immediately."
Geez, remind me not to make any comments in this forum. LMAO.
