Regarding Hours and Time Off

So I am going to be working admissions and I was curious as to what the typical work day and work week are in regards to hours. I was told that in mid July hours go up as it becomes a bit busier around the park. As I understand it, 40 hours is full time and anything over is overtime and is time and a half. Honestly the more hours the better for me; college tuition doesn't exactly pay itself. I am just trying to grasp an idea of what to expect so I can be prepared.
Also, how likely is it to get a couple days (4-5) off in a row? I have a really great work ethic and will work as much as they want (the more the better) but my significant other is going home to California for the summer and I would like to take a few days off to go and spend some time there. I don't have to, of course, but it would be nice to know if it is a possibility.

First things first:

I don't know exactly how admissions works but I'm guessing it's not too much different regarding hours and time off. In July, that's when staffing is best and I noticed a slight reduction in hours because of it. But I guess it can just depend on where you're working. Also, there is no time and a half at all, even if you're over 40 hours. In order to take a few days off at once, you just fill out a form requesting the days off, or you can email your manager any time now to get that all set up.

There is no time and a half. I believe you can work up to 79 hours max per week but I don't think you will come close to that number working in admissions but ride host can get up there in hours depending on the ride and time of year.

Working in foods i pushed 80 hours just about every week. Back then we also had a dollar an hour bonus which kind of made up for not having overtime.

GO IRISH!!

just to make things clear, there is no set max number of hours a person can work. i know a person last year who had 100+ hours in a week and at one point I had 90+ hours one week.

All right, I must have misunderstood the whole time and a half thing. Thanks for clearing that up. From what I understand, I'll be taking admissions and be cross trained to cashier and I may also be trained in season pass since I have typing skills. Is there a minimum amount of hours? Not necessarily a set minimum allowed, but on average the fewest hours in a week given?

the average work week is generally 40-50 hours depending on which department you're in.
