Regarding Dragster's Current Capacity

OT: Yes, I'm planning to be at Holiday World on Friday night and Saturday for Stark Raven Mad. :)

I think they are slowly working the problems out. Being there a few times and watching it, the biggest delay I have seen (other then breakdowns) is after train 1 and 2 launch when trains 3 and 4 are in the station there is sometimes a long delay in those trains exiting the station. The people are usually loaded and ready to go.

Train 1 launches fine, the cable returns and usually train 2 launches within about a minute (give or take I didn't time it to the second) of train 1 launching. So both trains are gone and done with the ride and trains 3 and 4 are still sitting in the station. If they could fix that PPH would go up considerably. That's what I noticed about a week ago when I was there.

The other thing that is weird is the cable returns to it's start position with the sled ready to attach to the car fairly quickly now, and trains 3 and 4 are still in the station not coming out. I would like to know why, as it does not appear an issue of slow ride ops. This tells me that it is probably a issue of the nitrogen not reloading quick enough, or is my guess. But the ride has improved each time I visit, but is not by no means perfect yet.

Not to be picky, but the nitrogen always stays in the tanks, it's the fluid that moves around. ;)

Yesterday, with 5 trains running, they moved people through the lines. It was good to see.

They are NOT running in manual mode.. They are running in multi-mode as we speak. I'm in the control booth enough.

The ONLY time "manual" mode is used on Dragster is to jog trains after an error or transfers.

Even when not doing multi-mode, the ride is in auto and the computer handles pretty much everything.

The capacity seemed to be WAY up yesterday (Friday), other than the odd breakdown here and there.

Standing in line when the ride was running smoothly was fairly similar to any other ride at the park. Walk forward a few paces, stand still for a short time, walk forward, stand still for a short time. There always seemed to be movement in the line (unlike opening day...) They were firing those suckers off very close together.

At one point when I was standing behind THAT wall, it was not obvious which part of the cycle they were in i.e. when they crossed to the next "pair".

When they get the reliability up, it is going to be a beautiful thing.

For those 16 extreme seconds, it was worth the wait....

liebevision: So far all you've really contributed is a lot of noise, little punctuation and poor grammar. Clean it up, eh?
