Well since Maverick opened today I decided to go out and try to get a ride in, the kicker I had to be at work at 10:30 out on 250.
luckily I have a Joe Cool so I got in at 9:00. :)
I entered the park by way of the resort gate around 9:00 and ran to Maverick, I got inline and only waited about a half hour before I was on the ride. I have only one thing to say; "OH MY GOD!"
I love this ride it was fast, smooth, and awesome!
As I was leaving the ride I was going to try to get back in line but by that time the line was wrapped all the way around the antique cars, what I figured to be around a 4 to 5 hour wait (or more) so that was out, I did catch a ride on SkyHawk though, and in the rain no less :D
On my way out I saw Mr. Kinzel on the Midway and stopped to congratulate him on a wonderful new addition to Cedar Point.

4,5 Hours already at 9:30 in the morning?!..crazyy lol
Total Maverick rides for the 2007 season = 27
Top 5--- 1. Maverick- 2. Millennium 3. Magnum 4. TTD 5. Gemini
Cavs- 2007 Eastern Conference Champions!.-
Perhaps the line in the queue area hadn't tightend up yet. You can only get so many people past the entrance at a time. Inforcing ride restrictions at the entrance can cause the line to back up pretty far on the midway when everyone is rushing the entrance at once.
Or maybe the ride really did have a 4 or 5 hour long line. Somehow I doubt it though.

My sister and I got in line at 9:20, and only waited a hair over two hours, including 15 minutes extra for the front seat.
Man, oh, man, what a ride. I'm still trying to process the whirlwind experience. All I can say is, it certainly lives up to the hype and then some. It's just an amazing, amazing coaster. And it is fairly smooth. Not really sure why the earring prohibition got put into effect.
It was raining hard when we rode it, so I'm not sure how much the water bombs added to our state of bedraggledness. I think we got more water sheeting off the exit to the tunnel than over the lagoon.
Oh, and trust me, you will not miss the heartline.

Yeah, I was wondering about the earrings too. I had to take mine out. I heard it was maybe because of the launching system and the magnetics. Any ideas?

It definitely never reached the 4 hour mark. I entered the line when it had wrapped all the way around past Mine Ride and ended at the Antique cars. They hadn't opened any of the queues at that point, it was a straight line into the station. The wait was just short of 2 hours, and that included waiting a couple extra trains for the front seat.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Decided to do an update on this.
Went back to CP today (I am in Donut Time right now :) ) and rode Maverick again. I spent some time really looking around at the theming and enjoying the ride. The theming in the Que is great, if you did not realize that the Que house once belonged to another ride, you would not know it at all.
The station looks great, I really like the way that they load two trains at the same time, I would think that that would make it possible to keep two trains on the track just about every run.
I rode twice, once in the front seat and again in the 4th seat back.
The front seat was smooth but the 4th seat was a little rough. (I rode on the 3 seat on opening day and it was about the same) So it seems that the farther back you go the rougher it is. By rough I mean the side to side motion is pretty bad.
The gift shop looks great but is pretty sparse, a friend of mine in Merch told me that they were still waiting on Maverick themed merchandise to arrive.
After I rode I went back to my car and grabbed my camera to take some pictures of the ride in action, but when I got back it went down mechanical as soon as I got back there. I have not returned to the back of the park yet so I don't know if or when it reopened.
Over all Maverick is right now my new favorite ride at Cedar Point (I think it would be Millie if they would just fix the seat belts so that I could fit, and I am not fat I just have wide hips and no matter how much wait I lose it will not help :()
Well I am off to see the new Molly and Maverick show in the Palace Theater, I will be back on later tonight or tomorrow with a full trip report and a review of the show. Till then. . .

Ride on, MrScott!
I'm sorry but I don't see a problem in what you quoted. It is something that I just don't know about or what.

In the queue house I was looking around and thought to myself at one point "if this was still the other ride I'd either be standing in a boat or a moat'. You can see the circular areas of new cement that filled the water channel.
Do not mess with dragons for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
