Red and White Track attached together (confirmed).

Thanks for covering me "BirdOfPrey00." It would be a total screw up to put the world's tallest coaster up, and not be able to light it properly. I remember the "Vertigo" last year. They tried to light it with what looked like a similar or same system as the Power Tower and The Millennium Force. It didn't work because the poles wouldn't reflect it properly, it was all vertical and no horizontal to reflect the light. Just a thought.......fun guessing about it.
Okay, it looks like I'll eat my own crow here, the track may in fact be connected together. The pic that I have shows another white piece laying next to the red and white one. Sorry for starting a controversy.

The thing I don't get is that when they normally hang track it's piece by piece then they connect the two. Why would you try to do two at a time? I think it would be more difficult to line up with the structure that way. Rideman may know the answer to that.

Another thing I thought about is that if this ride is in fact 400ft tall the next turn or hill could very well be at least 200ft tall or more. That's just insane to think about.

"WE HAVE ANOTHER CHOICE PRIZE WINNER"

Sky kicker: I think the 2 are connected already because they are going to be in a hard to reach section of the tower. I bet they may be hung already or by this weekend. With the size of that tower, if some track is going through the middle of the supports, it would be easier to hang it, then continue building the tower. That's just my opinion.

I agree with some very high turns, especially after hearing there are going to be 150 truckloads of steel. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think MF had just over 100. With this ride probably going to be much shorter than MF, that leads me to assume that most of the truckloads will be supports. Just look at how many pieces are in that small section of the tower already.

My theory on an announcement, they dont need to. Most of us know a lot, even more details each day construction progresses. The GP knows enough just by the news coverage, paper and tv, the Funtimes newletter, and one damn big construction site.

first off, i am a pilot. secondly, towers that rise too far into airspace need to be painted white and red and must have a flashing becon so that pilots of airplanes can see the towers. if i am not mistaken, sandusky airport isnt too far away and planes fly around the park all the time. since this coaster might be 400 feet tall, could the supports be painted red and white (alternating) just for the tower? just a thought- this height has never been achieved before on a coaster post september 11 when the NTSB, FAA and TSA are feeling pressure from the public to make the airways safer. off topic alittle, the airways are very safe in their current state and if this is the case, i dont think its necessary.

You know, that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw red and white track. You can find things all around Cleveland's airport that painted with stripes or checker board, not to mention broadcast towers in nearly every major market. Just makes sense to me.

That makes sense about the red and white being for the tower. I never thought of it that way

I fool so feelish...

So, what, does this mean we're going to have a "Candy-Cane Coaster"?

well, a red/white alternating track could (possibly) fit into some sort of racing theme, i guess....
Santa's Sleigh Ride to Hell!

Perhaps it will fit a year round season theme? :)

I think if the red alternates between red and white then the real color scheme will be pink...at least that's what the rides will see after the launch and on the drop. :)

CP bound: I don't think we'll be going that fast...this isn't going to be reaching "Ludicrus Speed". If it did that we'd be seeing plaid. ;)

If you get launched at 120+mph I'd bet the first few sections of track could appear pink. As soon you are finished getting launched, you will be traveling 176 feet per second (using 120 mph). I've heard from someone that the track pieces are approximately 18 feet long.

I know that it will start to decelerate as soon as it's finished launching, but at that speed, you will be traveling over 9 pieces of track per second. If it is multicolored the whole way, I'm sure the portion right after the launch and in the valleys may appear pink.

Spaceballs, I remeber that movie. Haha.

The red and white alternating for the tower, for the airspace reason, does seem like a good logical arguement. If that is the reason, well, i guess you cant really do much about it, if its not the reason, again, i guess you cant really do anything about it either. But i'm just waiting to see the artist renderings like the ones for Xcelerator, just to get the whole color scheme.

Someday's it's just not worth chewing through the restrains.

well, a red/white alternating color scheme also would (kinda) relate back to a 'dragster' theme for the ride...i'm just remembering those old atari games like F-1 pole position, where the sides of the roads were painted redwhite, redwhite, redwhite...
The alternating colors may also give you ways to visualize your speed or make it look faster. When you are going that fast and that high, you may not have too many reference points that are closeby for you to get the full effect of the ride. I'm sure you'll feel it, but if they can somehow make the ride more visually stimulating, then why not?

So it will look like Pepto?

The best thing about Six Flags "Worlds of Adventure" is that Cedar Point is nearby!

My thoughts are that the track wont be hung for a lil while. I belive this was done to kill off a pesky rumor that was bugging them and showing that its only gonna be one coaster, not two. This is my two cents on it.

Why does CP only have one Bird of Prey and a whole bunch of Sea Gulls?

I'm not quite sure why the two pieces are together... I am convinced it will be one coaster, but it could just be a teaser. Yet, the various sections could be pieced together to save some time down the road. Who knows...
