The weight/workout area of the rec actually received an improvement last year, its not so bad. I would use it if it wasn't for me being so tired from working all the time. If your like me, just working at CP will keep you in pretty good shape.

The fitness center in the rec has the basics and isnt to terrible. I think there is either a treadmill or a stationary bike (Maybe Both) in addition to regular weights. If you want a labor intense job to keep you in shape try working on Sky Ride or the Engine House... those are some of the toughest jobs in the park. Heck, if you like walking a ton being a sweep wouldn't be that bad. Though you will be walking around by yourself for between 8 and 12 hours a day. Most rooms in commons have cable, so bring a TV if you can cause you wont get priority with the TV in the rec most times.

Actually, as of last year, most if not all rooms in Commons had TVs included thanks to the Sandcastle Suites renovation. Who knows how many where broken or stolen over this past season though. I suspect the equipment "upgrade" at the rec may have been due to the Sandcastle renovations as well, assuming Sandcastle had a workout room.

Pretty sure Sandcastle does not have a workout room. I do remember being in the rec center when someone was putting the new stuff together and I think it actually came out of new boxes and stuff (shocking, I know).
As far as working at the rec center, I don't know how that goes exactly but I can describe a bit. There are people who sit behind a desk and yell over a microphone telling people that their computer time is up. They also distribute/sort employee mail and rent out rec center items to employees, such as games. Oh, they also inform you when the wireless internet is down and then insist on calling a technician when 99% of the time, they could just restart the router and it would work again.
The only reason I ever went to the rec center was for Subway. That was the single greatest addition for employees' "benefit" this past year. It was open till 1 in the morning, which meant when I got back from work at almost or past midnight, I could still get a pizza or sandwich if I wanted to and not go to bed starving. It's normal pricing with 10% off, too, although 5 dollar footloooooongs aren't included.
Remember how I could never get a pizza after work? They always ran out just before I got there. You and Randall got the last ones that one night and you were right ahead of me in line. Stupid pizza.
