We've been hearing a lot of negatives so here's a positive thing CP did that they didn't have to do. On Friday night of closing weekend just before closing I rode Dragster, ran around and got in line for one more ride. It went down for mechanical reasons so they said we could wait or leave. We waited and they announced that it would be down for the rest of the night. Everyone let out a big moan and groan until the crew said that they would walk everyone in line over to Millennium Force. That they did and everyone was happy. I know that isn't a make or break thing, but I'm sure it made a lot of peoples' day.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
That happens a lot more often than you'd think...

To be fair, there's also a thread on why CP is so good. The reason you see so many complaints in this thread is because that's what the topic is.
personally I think the food choices at the point are terrific, plenty of sit down and eat in options, try going to kings island the only options they have their for sit down eat in are self service cafeterias, with choices like macaroni's and game day and coasters you can sit down and have a nice meal, as far as service I ate at macaroni's last year and ordered an italian sausage sub, the bread came out way over done, i asked for another piece of bread and the waitress insisted on cooking me a new one and then she said she wouldn't charge me for it since I had to wait, pretty good service there, grant you I live in kentucky and only make it up 2 to 3 times a year, but my experiences have been good with service. Perhaps they could be cleaner, but I'm usually in such a hurry to get everything in I probably don't notice that much, and from what I've heard you have to take out a second mortgage to eat at disneyworld.

Well even better then.
Not when you've already been working 16 hours, and must now stay longer... ;)

^^^^^Im sure that happens all the time. It's just when it's your first time being able to be taken over to another ride's exit for a "free" ride, like me on july 4th, then you can't really think about all those other times it has happened with other people. What matters is that you have fun and are lucky to do it, cuz a lot of people have never done it. :)
I felt slightly bad for the MF crew. They must have been pissed when they got that call. At least they got to 'sleep in' the next morning since the park didn't open till noon. It's not like they have to be there earlier to get the ride ready or anything. ;)

A second mortgage to eat at WDW? Are you kidding me? It's really not that expensive. I think the last time I was there, I was eating good, full meals that I couldn't even finish for around 9 bucks. Not to mention, they have fresh fruit stands in the morning where you can snag an apple and some water and get away for a couple of bucks.
Nothing at Disney is really all that expensive, save for ticket prices, which can get a bit pricey, but if you look at it in the grand scheme of things, you really do get what you pay for.

Actually, Disney can be down right cheap for food, provided you stay on site and get their meal plan. For the cost of one sitdown meal, you get a snack (cookie, soda, popcorn, pretty much anything that is is then $4) a counter service meal with dessert and a drink and a sitdown meal with appetizer, entree, dessert and drink. Its really a steal.
I'll also concur that Disney's food prices are pretty reasonable, and their food is of higher quality than what is served at CP. Their service was much faster and better organized to boot.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
All you have to do is go to Pecos Bill Cafe at the Magic Kingdom at noon to see efficiency. I bet the number of people they serve there in an hour is staggering. Plus, you get mushrooms, onions and other fixings for your food at the cool toppings bar. But, the best part by far is the ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise dispenser. If you've been there, you know what I mean. :)
Disney's dining plan is ridiculous cheap if you go to the right places.

Understand the difference in Disney verses Cedar Point. Disney is a brand and in that sense it is synonymous with family entertainment. Just as Kleenex means the same as tissue. Cedar Point has identity issues. Either they are a thrill park, clean family park or both. Cedar Point needs to understand what they want to be and promote it and at the same time live up to the expectation of the brand.

^^ - oh trust me, we found that out on our honeymoon. And we got the "free" dining plan as promotional offer. Then we went and had dinner at the Coral Reef. I think the food alone was around 100. Total we were close to 150, but had to pay for the drinks out of pocket.
Tim - what's amazing is that Pecos Bill (if its the same place I'm thinking of) is a very similar in set up to Coasters. So why is it that Pecos is very fast but Coasters seems to move extremely slow (even with only a few people in line)?
Goodbye MrScott
John
If you look closely at the set up at Pecos Bill Cafe, the efficiency is amazing. The wall between the kitchen and serving area is double-sided. So, the coolers open on both sides. That way they can keep them full from the kitchen, and the serving staff can just pull the stuff from the front. They also probably have close to 50 people working in there. :)
I have never run into any bad service at the park. Compared to other parks, it seems as though Cedar Point treats its guests with much more care. For example, I live near Six Flags Great Adventure, and I visit the park every couple of years. Now, this park has several problems, but their service is by far the worst. Disney employees are friendly and caring too, but the lack of rides and the $40 churros will keep me away from there. And as far as theming, let's face it, most people don't really care. If you're a roller coaster enthusiast, you'll go to Cedar Point, and if you're not, you'll go to Disney.
