I worked at cedar point last year and i had to leave half way through the reason because of family reasons. i was in ride-ops but i dont want to go back to the same dept. will they hire me in a diffrent dept?
2005- all over the place
Did you give them at least 7 days notice prior to leaving and otherwise left on good terms?
If not you will be on the "no rehire list." The best way to tell is to put your soc # into http://jobs.cedarpoint.com If it lets you than you can apply to any department you want and may or may not be accepted depending on the department. If it gives you a notice that you can't apply then you won't be able to.

Yes, it depends on what kind of terms you left on. Did you explain your situation to your manager at the time? If so then she/he should be understanding and it shouldn't be a problem to come back.
But if you left without telling anyone why you were going, just kind of skipped out, then it's possible you'll be a no re-hire. If that is so, try to get in touch with your former manager by e-mail or phone and explain what your situation is. Hopefully they'll be understanding.
i worked in00 and had to leave early and again in 05 i never started cus of medical reasons. i was rehired tho in rides
Sometimes you can be a conditional re-hire. Your former manager fills out a review with your termination papers which decides your fate for the following year.
While I quit in 2005, I thought I might have a chance to be a conditional employee. When I tried to apply before the holiday, it accepted my application. But after the holiday, my password (from jobnet) has been deleted and my SS# no longer works. I'm now a no-rehire!
This fact hurt me tons after I thought I could return after it let me fill out the ap. While I didnt think I would get the same position (important job), I figured I'd take the pay cut and work my way back up again. It didn't take long before and I can imagine hiring will be any better this year. I haven't decided if I will go further into the matter but have thought about it. I miss CP and the friends that make CP one of the best places to work!
But to find out your standing, just type in your SS# on jobnet and it will tell you "due to 2005, blah, blah, blah, you can not be rehired for the 2006 season. Otherwise it will let you fill out the application!
