Raptor4Us Again! Thursday Sept 2nd

Raptor for us once more!! :)

It was yet another trip for my hubby and I back to CP. Goal again (same as Tuesdays) was to ride Raptor and work closer to my 1k goal. The better thing about this trip (as opposed to Tuesdays) was we did not have to leave park at 2pm so I could go to work....day off...no work for me!!! :)

Sporting my "Yankees Suck" t-shirt (I own 3 ;)) I was ready to see if I could beat my ‘02 record of 64 flights in one day. Was anticipating maybe 45 flights.......would have been happy with 30.

High Po!nts: The weather was absolutely perfect. Sunny, very low humidity, nice lake breeze all day. Raptor was a walk on all day, morning was very little guests, and 3 train operation. I mentioned to my hubby I did not expect them to leave 3 trains on all day. At 1pm, and after 25 flights, we took a lunch break (not MY idea-who needs to eat?) We inhaled our lunch and a ton of drinks in less than 30 minutes...back to Raptor we went.
Upon returning back to park, was proved correct, down to 2 train operation, yet still no crowd, and no wait longer than 10 minutes. Crew was really working hard to keep people moving, and as day went on they kept asking me how many flights we had. Thankfully I was smart enough to take paper and pen with us to keep an exact tab. Hubby got to see 1st hand how slow Raptor is in the a.m. and how day progressed how much faster it got. We sat in every single row of the train so he could see the difference in the rides.
He still prefers row 8, smart man! :)

I got SOOO many comments on my t-shirt, it was hilarious!! :) Alot of Indians fans commenting on the 22-0 KILLING on Tuesday :) Needless to say, I was a favorite of the Red Sox fans too! :)

Low Poi!nts: Raptor was obviously playing the role of "Vomit Comet" yesterday. 3 guest illnesses! And one was the worst one I had EVER seen....apparently that guest had just chowed down in the Midway Market or something. I don’t think anyone in his row was spared! Blech!!! :(
Illnesses caused a slight delay due to the dry runs, but nothing that really effected us.
The biggest low po!nt to me was the SLOW guests. People who are on the queue, NO one in front of them but plenty of people behind them (us included) walking like they had all freaking day to get to the platform. To me, that is just rude and inconsiderate. MOVE!!

Despite walk ons for most of the day, why did we still see groups of idiots jumping into the freeway path and line cutting through out the day? WTH? :(

So....it was Raptor where we started at 9am, and Raptor where we finished at 8pm.

Total rides??
63! :)
One shy of my ‘02 record, but one I was still pretty happy with :)

Lifetime flights for me now, 985! :)
15 to go to my 1k which is easily achievable before season over.

CoasterMania will probably be when I will get my 1k :) If not, there is always Halloweekends! :)

It was really a great day, my thanks to the Raptor crew for doing such a great job all day which helped us achieve so many flights! And thanks to my hubby for cheering me on all day too! :)

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that?

I second the comment about the puke fest - what was going on?. I only managed 4 rides on Raptor but managed to see 3 guest illnesses, and while it was not funny at the time, one of these events happened to my friend. Fortunately he had the decency to wait until he was on the exit walkway to retaste his chili dog, and he somehow managed not to hit anyone. I was ready to buy a shirt that said “I did NOT puke on the Raptor today”.

I also agree with the slow guests comment. It kills me when people crawl through the empty queue only to get to the station and say "wow I can't believe how there is no line". Why don't these people realize if they would have walked a little faster they would have already been on the ride instead of standing in the station waiting for the next train?

I wish you good luck, Jo. Funny comment Jeff.

I'm guessing, the only thing you ride at CP is Raptor? Lol...
Ah the slow walkers in front of you. I like to call those people the "tourists". I don't mind the moderate walkers, but yeah, some take a good minute to get to the station. PIC interview below:

PIC - "Well RaptorJo were here at coastermania and you are 1 ride away from 1000, how are you feeling?"

Jo - "GREAT!!! It's a great day except for these damn slow people who walk in the queues....excuse me MOVE IT BUDDY!!! It's like they have nothing better to do. 1000 for me NONE for you!!!"

PIC - "So is Raptor your favorite coaster? We have heard from sources there is another inverted that takes the cake."

Jo - "Ok, Talon is better then Raptor!!!"

PIC - "Well I'd like to ask you a few more questions, but you've left and are riding Raptor again. If you don't mind I'm going to sit on the bench and look at the fine tail walking by." *** Edited 9/7/2004 7:08:59 PM UTC by Hooper***
