Raptor questions

So, w/ working on raptor in 03, and seeing the changes on a lot of rides, ie. air gates, auto spiel, stuff like that. Does anyone know if Raptor has changed to an auto spiel, i dont like those, that is where you have the most fun on the ride, crew members will remember this one "we're gonna take you up like what, drop you down like whoa at speeds that are like weeeeeeeeee!" fun times, anyway, does anyone know about auto spiel on Raptor, or if they changed the platform, because telling guests the front line is full and they need to choose another row, was by far i think the worst part of that job.

I worked Raptor for a week this summer... the crew over there is fantastic. And, you're right, spieling is a lot of fun over there. But, from what I've gathered, every single coaster will be recieving an auto-spiel. Magnum, Corkscrew, and Iron Dragon all recieved theirs last season, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Raptor and Mantis get them this year. It's first and foremost for legal reasons, secondary... it's for keeping Ride Ops from getting in trouble for making the guests "too rowdy" (like I did last summer asking on WT "Guests on the train, are you ready? Cuz we are!") and straying from what you're actually supposed to say.

It's a given the autospiels will come sooner or later, and it's rather sad.. because spieling was the best part of the job.

2003 - Wicked Twister Crew

As a guest and not an employee my favorite part of the ride was getting into the station (and especially when you were a first timer) and hearing that "They were going to take you up ***ft, and drop you back down, etc.) To me, that was what got you all excited about to ride and made it one of the best parts of the ride expirence.

Yet another reason to love working in Challenge Park! They can't take away the Spiel from Challenge Racing, because that is about the most important part of the Job. And one of the most fun! Ever tell someone they couldn't ride Raptor until they removed any Ohio State clothing they were wearing, just cuz you are a Michigan Fan? I didn't think so! We had so much Fun, and will continue to in the coming Seasons. Sorry for your guys loss, but hey, can you be happy for us?

I think they are swaying to an auto spiel, to make sure all bases are covered for legality reasons. But I was working Raptor when it was raining, and we told guests "you will get rust on your clothes if you decide to ride Raptor". I know that Raptor doesn't drip nearly the amount of rust it used to, but will that be in an auto spiel? I am sure just like MF has their ride controller giving last minute spiels that Raptor will do the same.

I admit, working unload 1 at Raptor was one of my favorite places. I would hope you can still spiel for employee ride nights, that makes it a lot more fun! I think employees have a great time spieling. It will be missed if they do auto spiel on every ride.

I think that even if they put auto-spiels in at raptor the returning employees from last year will be able to talk fast enough to get the fun information out before they send a train out!.....since last year we didnt ever send a train out when we were suppose too!...

Screw Millennium Force and Dragster? That's about one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. It's Cedar Point...ALL the coasters are awesome (with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions)!

the more I read these posts about rides, the more I want to work on one with a great group like everyone seems to talk about...

I'm gonna have to agree with Eve Raptor is by far the best ride in the park. Not only is it the best ride but the best crew!!! love you mean... See you all soon :)
