Raptor Jo & CP 10-27
I have truly been blessed with a b/f who understands my love for CP and didn't hesitate to take care of the horse stuff I needed done to go to CP this weekend. Of course the story he would tell you is that he is willing to do ANYTHING to keep me from attempting to back up the 5 horse trailer again, or even driving a duelly anymore!
Arrived at CP at noon Saturday, thanks to working there last season when it was 28 degrees out, I knew how to dress. I had on 3 layers of clothes, hat, gloves, CP blue uniform and even ended up putting on the rain gear jacket too. I stopped by the PR office to say hi, I think it is so flattering to me that they know who I am in there! I started my day hitting up Raptor 5x, having a blast with the crew as always. Mantis was awesome without the trims, then hit up MF 2x. Sun finally made a brief appearance so I got my 35MM and took some more pics around the park, got some shots of the beach footers and the torn down aquarium. I ended up seeing Mr Skyward following the scary characters into Kiddy Kingdom. I was thinking that it could be possible he would scare some kids worse than the characters! ;) Sunshine did not last long and it didn't take too long after that for it to really start getting cold! I went over to Maggie, met up with Dan, Jerry (thanks for the Raptor lighter Jerry ! :)) Scott, and met Nat's b/f, Jeff, (Mantomanic) Rode Maggie a couple times (she was FLYING!) then Jeff and I headed to Gemini, then back to MF 2x til Nat got off for the evening. I went to the Red Garter to "warm up", saw Rob there taping the country show, (yea I know what a shocker there huh? ;))
I left right after the show and ended up seeing Carl, his wife and cute kids before I left to go back into park. I hit DT, BS and went to Raptor to see what was wrong since I hadn't seen any trains at all. No Raptor for me due to "preventive maintenance" (translation: crack in rail-welding to be done after park closed)
One of my favorite ride ops Chris was at entrance to advise "no Raptor for you" to all the guests, so I decided to hang out with him for a while. I sat in the test chair and had SO much fun! Thanks to my CP uniform guests assumed I worked there so I played the part. There I met Cedarpoint!, and had the funniest Mr Skyward incident. He was there so I started talking to him, he grabbed my hand and held it, then went to sit on my lap! NO lie! My instict was to curse him out (darn new Yorker in me) but instead I pushed him off and said "come on John, only 1 per seat, you know that!" I was very concerned about him because he was very underdressed, I asked him where his hat and gloves were, he said he lost his hat and he didnt have any gloves. He eventually did a time check and wandered off. I stayed there a while longer, seeing tons of people I know (including some silver tags who asked me why I didnt work on Raptor this season) I talked to some new people who knew who I was, and even saw Nat and Jeff again. Around 11pm I decided I had enough of playing ride op, was going to head back to Maggie and meet up with Dan and Jerry again. Decided against it due to lack of feeling in my toes. Some food and a Pepsi Twist (which btw I cant get here yet) a nice warm hotel room sounded TOO good....so waved ba-bye to CP, preparing myself for the bittersweet closing day ahead :(
