Yes. Rides are alwats going to break down. They can be mechanical mishaps that we love to ride again and again. But they break down and workers come to fix them for us. It's just like when people get sick and we go to the doctor to fix the problem.
Alright i will come out and say this, the reason the ride went down for so long is because of this. We dispatched a train and the train left and started to acend the lift but we recieved a trouble light and the lift had shut itself off. We checked out the error message below the station and it read lift did not engage. So I was the one to go out to the lift to restart the lift hill, the chain never caught the train because it was up too much in the trough so when the last row left the drive wheels the train just stopped. So we had to let the people off of the train and me and one of my co-workers escorted the riders up the exit to Millie to get right on. Maintenance had to manually crank the train up the lift which took a while and was quiet, because i was sitting at the entrance and all of a sudden i hear the anti-rollbacks above me. But maintenance had to install pieces of metal to keep the chain down, CP had to call in the head mechanic from B&M came out and he supervised the work that was being done, we were down for a total of just over 3 days.

it's not a problem, it was actually funny, the entire crew knew that something about it was going to be discussed on here and we were laughing at (no offence) everyone that was saying that it valleyed and they "saw" a crane at the cobra roll. we just had to laugh because we couldn't say anything. like i said it was a fun couple of days

You guys did a GREAT JOB this season! Raptor will always be my favorite ride at CP because of its crew. BTW, nice sweatshirts during halloweekends guys. Did all the ride crews get them, or just the best?
I'll be Coasting for Kids on June 9th

With the sweatshirts it's a thing that the crews usually do on their own. We got both shirts and sweatshirts, now with crew from some other rides their sweatshirts were a teeny bit inappropriate to wear on the job, ours were simple so we could wear them. and yes kurt the drive wheels are a nice plus when they park the train for you!

Yeah, I would also have to commend the Raptor crew. You guys made our hour rain delay pass a lot faster. Hanging out in the station at Raptor was way cooler then when I had to sit in the MF station 2 years ago. So yeah, great job this year!
Damn i can remember when me and all my friends got to the Raptor line and saw that the wait was 2 hours long. We almost turned back but the girl sitting at the entrance said that the sign may say 2 hours but the crew running the show up there will have you up the lift within an hour. We decided to get in line. Sure enough we were going up the lift hill just shy of an hour wait.
Great Job Raptor Crew
See you all in MAY!

I know I love the Raptor! I can't wait to get on it in the spring! I was lucky to be the first train of the season this year and it was the last coaster of the season! I love the rush! I give the Raptor crew a high five! They keep the Raptor a fun ride that runs smooth!
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
The 2008 CRaptor Crew couldn't run the dunk tank at Vermilion Fish Festival without a minimum of 3 hrs daily downtime. If you think stacking trains and slow loading makes you a good crew then I suggest you head over to the Materhorn and see how a real Crew runs a thrill ride. Thats a well oiled machine right there!
Wait a sec I didn't even go to CP in 08...Congrats on what seems to have been a great year 08 Raptor Crew!
Actually, we murdered last year's number on Matterhorn, so that statement is quite true. :)

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Raptor's crew this year was definately one of my favorites! Everyone was always very friendly. Especially when I would be trying to put my things in the bin and they had to wait on me to finish so that they could check my seat restraints. Thanks Raptor crew. :)
