Random CP/Sandusky question

Okay, so this will be my first season at CP and i have 2 questions. None of the cool questions like "where should i live".... I dont have a roomie, and i figure, ill find someone or vice versa. This is going to be a little different from my 4 years at PKI. Anyway, my question pertains more to the off CP area. I was wondering if there is a gym anywhere close to the park. Like a ballys etc.

Part two of the question would be.... is there a gym (basketball, ymca) type around the park. I teach a couple of color guards in southern ohio and while im gone im going to send them videos of their work and such, but i need a place to spin.

Ryan....well I don't think that you will find a gym besides the Employee Rec Center that is near the Employee Housing Area. However, they built that after my last summer and now I am going back, but I have never seen the Rec Center so I am not sure if it would accomadate your needs. I was a music major and taught HS Show Choir for two years. Maybe we could work on your routines together. Besides....if you are cute....you can spin in my dorm/apartment anytime! he hee

there is a gym (as in Bally's) down cleveland road in Clevelad Plaza...2 in the same plaza if I remember correctly...as far as a YMCA I'm sure there is one I just don't know where....I'm personally not an athletic type person...and the only reason I know about the others is that they're in the same plaza as the Salvation Army store...

They have a gym somewhere.. my roommate used to workout there. I'm not sure where it was but it wasn't the CP rec center one. Although, I did see people there a lot. I also had a lot of roommates who would spin their rifles outside. Sooo you wouldn't have any problems finding places to do that stuff.

From what I remember of the "gym" in the employee rec, it wasn't that great, just a few machines and a bench press if I remember correctly. I think that the YMCA offers a special discount for CP employees but don't quote me on that. I'm gonna have to look into that as well, I want to keep up on working out this summer.

Hey Beastboy2002, where do you teach at? I am in the guard at my school(Miami University) and work with edgewood winterguard(tristate circut). Any time you want to spin let me know, I brought my flags and sabre last year and would love a practice buddy!

There's a Gym on Cleveland road. about half a mile or so away from the causeway callad Blake's Gym in Sandusky Plaza. There is a YMCA on Perkins Ave. by the golf Course. When you get to Sandusky. Grab a phone Book. Address's for Both Places are there and so is a Map of the city. Our Both Places are great Place's to work out. both have been renivated and updated

Hey Clara,

I teach a couple of different HS in the area. I taught stebbins HS and springfeild HS part time and my full time guard is Grove City HS. We do MEPA and *gag* OMEA. I marched for michael shapiro, carroll hs, crown guard, and then i marched onyx last year. Some how I got suckered into marching my HS again, they went IO. So anyway, Id love to spin sometime, its going to be interesting teaching color guards via video tape so... we shall see....

You can pick up good phone books at the viitors bureau on 250 (Perkins Avenue). Going North towards CP it's on the right Side of the road somewhat across the street from Bob Evans. The Visitors bureau is in between the mall and Great Bear Lodge.

There is about 5 or 6 Gyms in the Sandusky area. When my duaghter was born last July the hospital gave my Fiance a list of about 6 or 7 Gyms in the Sandusky area. We threw that list away awhile ago though... :(

Wow, I never realized how many colorguard/winterguard people work at CP. That's awesome! We should start a club, lol. Does anyone know if there are any independent winterguards in the Sandusky area?

Colage and Perception combined, they are both out of the Clevland area, but I haven't heard if they are around this year since I'm with tristate. Juxtaposition is in Columbus, a little drive but guard is worth it.

Hey My Friend Matt was in Juxta, for 2 years he said Collage is good but they're not as Good as Juxtaposition. This year Collage is competing, but Juxta is way better like whoa, they are thinking about going world either next year or the year after.

Who do you spin for!? I used to spin for Northmont, and I was going to do an independent this year but the lacjk of funds prevented me in doing so. . .so I think I might do one next season. . .I just need to practice a bit!
