An update at the GL website mentions a new train purchased from Holiday World will be added to RWB this summer.

Yep, that's the one. I have fond memories of getting the crap beat out of me on that train. Good times. Here's a photo:

I was just hired last week at GL as a full time ride mechanic. My first day is this Monday and I have been assigned to work on the wooden roller coasters. When I went in for my interview the manager took me to the ride maintenance buildings and I did see the new train for the RWB. It is indeed the one in the pictures you guys posted the links to. I will also be working on the antique cars and all the childrens rides since I am starting out as an entry level mechanic.
Thank heaven it is not one of those awful Gerstlaur trains like on Villian. When I rode it last summer it hurt my legs too bad. Sure they look cool but (to me anyway) they hurt too much.
Ummmm...MaskedCoasterFreak, I hate to tell you this, but both of the trains on Raging Wolf Bobs are Gerstlauers. The only difference is that one is an open-front train stolen from the Villain, and the other is a closed-front train purchased from Holiday World.
That said, I suppose the only viable alternative would have been to go back to Wolf Bobs' original trains, which are PTC trailers that do as much damage to the riders as they do to the track...

Why did they steal a Villain train for RWB? Did Villian have 3 trains or something?
Coaster Fanatic Since 2003
Apparently Six Flags did buy three trains for Villain. Villain is engineered to have a mid-course block (it's the long straight section on the second turn around), but there are no brakes or track sensors to actually implement three-train operation.

There is also a rumor that Villain originally had only two trains, and after its first season Six Flags replaced one of the trains, then later moved the 'spare' train over to Raging Wolf Bobs. I don't remember where I saw that. But I am inclined to believe that Six Flags bought three trains for the Villain and kept one in storage.

Although most of the above rumor is true with purchasing a 3rd train in 01 and rehabbing the original two trians then moving the 3rd train to RWB. To expand on it "supposedly" the ride had 3 trains but the original "navy blue" train was sent to SFStL to operate as the 3rd train for Roar, which is why the midclourse was never installed to begin with. How exactly true that is? I dunno, but I do know the original 2 trains are back on Villain and the new 3rd train is on RWB with the new train from HW.
By the way...am I the only one hoping the rehab the old RWB g-train to look like the Legend train just hot pink with purple flames? Probably...

There is no "Roar" at SFStL. I think you mean The Boss.

One train will have the open front and one will have a closed front. Unless GL decides to do major cosmetic work on the fronts.

I was there on opening weekend and they only had one of the trains on the track. I asked the ride op where the second train was and he said it was being rebuilt because it was sitting for two years.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
