quick fix for CP offseason withdrawal

For those of you who are webcam watchers(and perhaps a bit bored at work), CP has began to cycle some of the Skyway cars.

Check it out at:

I noticed that this webcam became active again after a long winter on the last day of March.

If you really want a quick CP fix go to bank or a post office on a Monday morning and stand in line. You will feel right at home.

Better yet, go to the grocery store on the 15th or 30th after Social Security checks come out....the age group may not be the same, but the lines will be just as long

An airplane taking off gave me about the same g-forces as when Wicked or Dragster launches.

The video version is fun to watch. Lots of truck traffic on the Midway today. The Sky Ride is stopped with cars on the cable. It's a windy day today, and you can see the red car swaying a bit from the wind.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

The webcam certainly is better than my latest CP withdrawl fix: a 3D pinball game called Thrillride on CD-ROM. But at this point, I'll take whatever I can get.

The worst things about the offseason are November, March, and April.

Awww, bad day? Take a different perspective on things. Try upside down, a barrel roll, a cobra roll or a corkscrew. Life can't be all that bad when your feet are over your head!

I had my fix last week with a trip to Disney World. The pace was a little slower with a 20-month old, but I did finally make it to Space Mountain.

If no one else noticed, they moved the cam a little higher on the Boutique this year. Also, the view of TTD has greatly improved.

ID looks awsome finally being able to stand out in the lagoon.:) Just only if we knew what the train colors are going to be now if they change.

"Are We There Yet?" May 8th that is.
PLEASE CP, bring TTD's train themeing back!

Is it sad if you make the video version website your Windows desktop?

;) hehe

Here's a question for a Person Who Knows™...

On that webcam, you can see that there is a single Sky Ride gondola out on the wire. You can also see that it is not going anywhere, and that it looks like it is close to being right over the midway crossing.

Is that a "sacrificial" gondola, hanging there as a reminder to people driving trucks not to crash into the low hanging cable? Kind of like the big metal tubes hanging from the ceiling at a Home Improment Store that warn the forklift drivers to drop their loads before going through the door...?

As long as they don't hire the guy transporting the crane on I-75 last week they shouldn't really have to worry about the wires....I haven't seen anything bigger than a pickup go through,it'd take a pretty big truck to hit the wires
Actually.. the cars are out on the cable and NOT moving for a reason... ;)

Ew! I just saw something fly by the screen!!!!

Oh wait, that was pixelation. Not really too much going on now... at least they're starting to test some rides, maybe Dragster will join the group soon.

You 18 yet? Alright...

And I was wondering why they were out there.. ;)

Magnum XL-200: 85 (last train of the year in 6-1)

Well you can calm down now, they're gone.

...and I just saw some debri or a bird or something fly through there. Yes!

Walt... don't you know... they were there trying to find the seventh dragster train! You know... the one that jumped off the tracks and into the lagoon?! ;)

Edit: Oh yeah, and they were installing the new air conditioner on Space Spiral... and the new spit shields on corkscrew... you know, the ones that will catch anything dropped while going through the screws?

My guess is that they are working on the new "Midway Cabana/Transports." Something like $50 on weekdays and $75 on weekends gets a reserved "spot" on the Sky Ride. Refreshments provided by none other than Sky Ride Refreshments. Relax to the cool tunes of high school marching bands throughout the summer. 4 people max.
