questions re: working weekends Sept.-Oct.

Hi! I am a newbie who just got hired for ride ops for weekends Sept.-Oct. and have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. Is all housing open during this time? Will I have roommaates? What are the absolute essentials to bring for weekend stays? I will need to stay over one or two nights each weekend. I work in Cleveland very early on Mon. mornings, so is it best to stay over Sun. nights or should I drive home Sun. nights? I know I will probably need some cool weather CP clothes, so what is best to buy? I am trying not to spend much $ because I really need to save up. Is the rain suit best? Any suggestions or advice re: fall weekend employment would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

No, Cedars and Gold will be closed. You will have to live in Commons.

You may or may not have roommates. Probably will, but who knows.

What you'd normally take with you to a hotel I guess.

Depends on how tired you are. You will get off at 8pm or shortly thereafter. Cleveland isn't that far of a drive honestly.

You will have to buy company issue stuff from Wardrobe. They will deduct from your first paycheck.

You might want to get a sweater, and you might have to get that royal blue suit, other that... go to your department which I think is ...park operations by raptor. Hopefully you have white..or semi-white tennis shoes... all together might be under $50. Bring a belt!

Cleveland is 55 miles away I think, maybe an hour drive...depending on how fast you are. Good luck

^ I agree. Definately get the blue jump suit (I only bought the top half, but if your legs tend to get cold, I'd get the pants too). A sweatshirt isn't a bad buy either, although I think I only wore mine under the blue jacket once or twice.

From my experience, you probably will have a roommate in Commons, but most likely it'll just be one other person. Last year I did have a room with two roommates, but one of the guy's last weekend was my first weekend.

Don't forget the shower sandals. In the past I've left my toiletries and bedding stuff there during the weeks, along with any clothes I don't need to take home with me. You shouldn't need to transport more than just some clothes back and forth each weekend. You will have a locker in your room to keep your stuff in while you're not there, just bring your own lock.

Hey! I will be working as a screamster too Millenium! I will be staying at my parent's summer home on Catawba Island though, so driving 15-20 minutes isn't a big deal to me...

Good to hear that we are picking up some more Screamsters. If you have any questions about it feel free to send me a message. Otherwise, I'll see you guys in a few weeks.
