Hello guys! To start off I should say that I'm 18 at this moment and will be 19 the summer of 2018. I'm debating whether to apply to work at Cedar Point during the summer or not so I have a few questions for you guys. What are the best jobs with best hours to apply for? I'm a musician so it's quite important to have time to practice daily. A friend who is a former employee told me about rampant sex/parties among staff, is that true at all?
What kind of hours are you looking for?
Most departments within operations (rides, admissions, park services, etc) will offer a ton of hours, especially in the shoulder seasons while other departments may offer less. I have worked in rides for the past 3 years. 50-60 hrs/wk is pretty common there. I know accommodations is far less. Usually they are pretty good about letting you pick up more hours in other departments if you so desire.
If you are a musician, perhaps consider applying into the Live Entertainment division. Keep an eye out for audition postings on the Cedar Point website.
The demographic of most of the workers in the dorms is college age people with a strong bias to international workers. Take that for what you will. Know that they are very strict about the gender segregation of the dorms and that there is zero privacy.

Yea it depends on what you are looking for. Most Maintenance seasonal positions offer overtime and 2 days off per week per their CBAs. I know Technical Services will be looking in 2018 for seasonal workers. Tech. Services is responsible for park audio and video and works with LiveE on many projects. Ride mechanics also look for seasonal help regularly.
If you are going to try out for a performer spot in LiveE I'd recommend checking the dates for tryouts and getting in early.
