hey there everyone, I applied to work at cp, but I dont' know if I will get hired because of the time date that I said I could start. I dont get out of scool until june 10, but the thing is, I live in an on campus apt, so that means I will have to move all of my stuff back home, and clean the apartment before I can check out and such. This is made so much difficult because I dont have a car, and my mom will have to come back and forth. I said my start date would be on july 1st, but I am thinking that may be a little too late in the season. Especially, it probably will not work in the posistions that I applied for like admissions, merchandise, and guest services. I was thinking in food services that they would need people, but it is too late, and I can't change anything. Should I explain this to the person who is interviewing me? Man, I really want a chance to work there, but they might turn me away because my start date, and my work history is good, so I don't know. I was talking to someone from pointbuzz, and they said they have never known anyone to start after june 12th or so, so I guess my chance to work there is out huh?
If you're stating on july 1st when what's your end date? It depends if you can work weekends or not because that's when the number of employees drops substantially because the international workers go back home and the college kids go back to school. June 10th is kind of late for school to be over isn't? Where do you go? My school's done May 6th.

A late start date in and of itself is not necessarily a problem, however it's helpful for you to maximize your employment dates. If your last day of school is June 10th, then your start date should be as soon as possible (normally 2-3 days after your last day). To maximize your chances of being hired, you should probably amend your start date.
Also, Kevin is right in respect to your end date. Working weekends at the end of the season is VERY IMPORTANT and can often play a vital role in the hiring process.
Best of luck!

Usually, you need to be able to work about three months. I don't think it would be impossible for you to get hired with that late of a start date, because 1) July is when it starts to really get busy so they need more employees and 2) A lot of people hired on in May-June will be quitting, and thus need to be replaced. You are right though that the chances of getting your first choice of job position lessen the later your start date is...but they usually need people everywhere, so nothing is impossible. I wouldn't give up hope :)
Yeah...My Spring quarter isnt over till June 11th (columbus state)...I said i can be there June 14th..they usually understand 2-3 days..but 2 weeks???...I dunno

Aww sweetie, you shouldn't worry yourself so much. I started the middle of June and left the middle of August my first year in games. It would help to push your date up a little. Do you REALLY need 3 weeks to move and clean? Can you make it a week and a half maybe?
Since you go to school way out here in Cali, they obviously don't expect you to work weekends while going to school. Just explain your situation to whoever calls to interview you, and I'm sure you'll get hired!
