If you find somebody to room with ahead of time, then they will do what they can to make sure you guys are together. But if you don't have one already in mind, then they will just put you where there is space - it's pretty much just comes down to the luck of the draw.
My first year I was okay with my roommates, second year I loved them, third year I despised them. (Talking about different roommates each time). If you don't like the person or people they throw you together with, then you can move somewhere else, as long as there is room.
After you get there and start working, maybe you'll make really good friends with someone and then decide to room with them, if it's possible. In my opinion, how well you get on with your roommates goes a long way toward making your summer better, so don't put up with anyone that you don't want to.
On the rooming note, you will probably end up living on point. I doubt there will be any rooms available in commons that late. But you never know, and like some other people said, you can always swap rooms, so you're not stuck with a group of roomates you can't stand.

I'm Jeremy (Jay, please) andI'm going to try and live in commons and I'm in a position to look for a roommate (probably a 2-3 person room) I was planning on bring a tv and small fridge, plaus some other cool stuff. I'm a non-smoker (you don't HAVE to be), fun and easy going. My email is jay_907@msn.com in case you're interested
