Questions about Food Warehouse

Hi everyone, I have a few questions about the food warehouse. I am a first year and I am going to be working in the office there, so I just want to know what I am getting myself into before I process.

1. Has anyone worked in the food warehouse before and if so how was it?

2. Has anyone worked with Jack Royer? (Food warehouse Manager)

3. What are "normal shifts"?

4. I am going to be working in the office in the food warehouse? Would anyone know if the hours are different than wearhouse attendants?

Thanks for the help and I cant wait to arrive!

1. I have not worked there myself. But several of the employees are seasoned vets who will be able to lead and teach very well. I am told that the food ordering system is going to be all new this year, and no one has seen the finished product yet, so it's difficult to say what the office work will be like.

2. Not having worked there, I have not worked for Jack, but I can say a couple of things. He has about 40 years of experience in the warehouse and 12-15ish as the manager. He is extremely smart and good at his job, but also extremely particular about things (as one has to be in his position).

3/4. I should be seeing one of the warehouse office workers over lunch sometime this week, so I'll ask to be sure, but to my knowledge, the warehouse is typically open from 8-5 or so. Presumably staff has to be there a little longer in either direction.

Thanks for the info. I just wanted to know/ prepare myself for what I am getting myself into, especially the hours. I just didn't want to go in expecting that I will get at least 40 to 48 hours a week and end up with less. For me that would suck, I want all the hours I can get my hands on because the experience is going to be very helpful. That and Jack said that a Typical schedule is around what you said, but they often stay until they finished. The more info I can gather before I process in, the easier the transition will be, or at least I hope so.

ALmost forgot to ask, where do you work and how long have you worked at Cedar Point.

Fortunately, warehouse hours can't really get cut, because so many people rely on the warehouse to get us the stuff we can't function without.

I work in Food Wagons (stuff like Dippin'Dots), and this is my second season.

Cool, thats good news. How is it working in food wagons?
