I've never gotten a season pass before and I'm living in Lansing, MI which is a good bit away from CP so I probably couldnt make it more than 2 or 3 times. My brother lives about an hour away from CP so he'll probably go once or twice this year.
I have a hard time justifying a season pass for 2 or 3 visits so my question is is there anything preventing me from using my season pass for 2 or 3 visits then 'renting it out' to my brother for another couple of visits?
Your pass is locked to only you since they take your photo and it comes up when they scan the card.

Unless your brother is an identical twin, or looks a lot like you, the picture that shows up anytime the pass is used won't match up.
yeah, but good luck getting witnesses to pick the right one out of a line-up. :)

"pays for itself in less than two visits"
What's to justify? Besides your dishonest nature, of course.
Didnt know about the etiquette for these kind of things, thought maybe it was common between friends or family.
Thanks guys, minus rcmcac.
The etiquette of paying for unlimited admission for yourself and yourself only, then attempting to share it with other people?
You asked if it was OK to do something dishonest and fraudulent. What kind of response were you expecting?

You "didn't know about the etiquette for these kinds of things"? So you and yours are comfortable with stealing from companies?
Well, I guess I've been told. And that's RCMAC to you.
"etiquette". That makes me laugh. I know, we should all just buy one giant season pass and pass it around all year. Politely.
Seriously, bud, Cedar Point saw you coming a long time ago. Season passes, like most things of that nature, are non-transferable and there are measures in place.
And once again, if you're coming 2 or 3 times get the pass. It will be worth it even if you don't get to rent it out.
You're welcome.
"My good sir, do you mind terribly if I buy one admission to your buffet restaurant and then pass out plates to all my family members?"
Etiquette??? I thought stealing was always wrong, no matter how one tries to justify it in their own mind.
First of all, there are plenty of examples of gray area in society whether it would be someone buying tickets to see the Red Sox play with the senior discount with the intent of giving most of the tickets to your nephew, etc. And anyone that could use that would be pathetically stupid not to.
It's not hard to see how coming 2 or 3 times won't be justified considering CP has atleast a few days a year where they have one day sales for tickets in the $30-35 range on their website. 35*3 is not equal to $129.
Its nice having a place where people can ask questions and be given the benefit of the doubt. I didn't ask 'Can I get away with this?" I asked "Can I do this?". Certainly to those of you who havent spent years around CP going 20 times a year this answer my seem obvious but not necessarily to someone who hasnt and who was thinking of it as a gray area much like the uncle buying a season tickets to the red sox with a senior discount.
If you don't see my point then thats fine, say its not something people can do at CP. Thats what I was looking to know. And thats why I asked a question. But to take that the next level as a couple people did is disappointing although it fits with the rude, sarcastic, pretentious (looking at you, Jeff) responses I see when I lurk question threads around here.
Buying Red Sox tickets with the senior discount with the intention of having a non-senior use them is stealing.
Another person using your CP pass is stealing. The person using the pass may get prosecuted and you will have your pass canceled if they get caught.
If you don't want to play honestly, don't go. If you can't justify paying what it costs without stealing something, don't go.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Pete, thats fine if you don't consider it honest. Your post was respectful because you were just telling me what the situation is. I was just flustered by the idea that just asking a question about whats acceptable would warrant a couple of the replies, dont know what happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt. Particularly strangers. You'd think I'd have actually done it instead of just asking a question about its acceptablity.
edit: For the record I think ALOT of morally responsible people would feel differently about a senior uncle buying tickets for their nephew using a senior discount and would consider it simply 'practical'....but thats another story....
"...someone buying tickets to see the Red Sox play with the senior discount with the intent of giving most of the tickets to your nephew..."
That's stealing. Plain and simple: stealing. I don't know what shade of grey you're seeing there, because all I'm seeing are black and white.
"...anyone that could use that would be pathetically stupid not to."
Pathetically stupid? Perhaps. Still sitting in their seats while your party got booted for stealing from the company? Probably.
"I didn't ask 'Can I get away with this?" I asked 'Can I do this?'"
You asked if you can steal from the company. Like Jeff said: what kind of response were you expecting? That you asked the question suggests that you think it's acceptable to steal from a company.
It's a little weird to be preaching respect when you're asking about getting away with stealing (and yes, that is what you're asking), not to mention throwing around suggestions of people being "pathetically stupid."

I'm still shocked at how many people feel that if nothing solid, or physical is taken then it can't be stealing. To me, sneaking into a movie theater instead of paying $10 for a ticket is the same as stealing a $10 DVD from the store bargain bin. Same principal applies here, trying to beat the CP admission system is the same as stealing a $40 shirt from one of the shops.
