Question on Planning Trip to Cedar Point

My friend and I are planning on going to Cedar Point sometime during the 3rd week of August probably during the week. Is it a good idea to go to the park 2 days to get through everything or would one day all day be good enough? We will probably go one full day then go to soak city the next day and maybe use some night passes then to go back to cedar point at night. Would that be enough time to ride all coasters and stuff or would more time be required? I've never been there. Also, I was wondering I have heard some people say that they can't ride Top Thrill Dragster because they don't fit cause the belts are to tight. So if i'm 6'4" and about 175 pounds, will i fit alright? Or am i too tall? Just checking, I want to be able to ride the big rides. Thanks

Two days is always better than one.

Get some ride and slide passes. They're like $65, and you can get into the park and soak city both days.

Should be. We cannot predict mechanical downtime, weather, crowds, acts of god, etc

You should fit.

Can you get much riding done with the night passes? Or not really?

I'd go for the entire day both days. You'll get a TON done in the first hour if you get there early/strategize.

I am 6'4" 195 and I have no problem on any ride at CP.

One more question, is the park alot more exciting than Worlds of Fun? Worlds of Fun I think is great with the Mamba and all, so would this park be a bigger step from that park? Also I heard your legs have to be short and pretty small around to fit the restraints on Top Thrill Dragster? Is that true or just hear say?

Raptor 45, I'm going the fourth week of August and we are getting the ride and slide passes. We have done it before, 2 summers ago, August 11 and 12. It was busy both days and rode everything, but didn't use the 'slide' part of the passes. I'd recommend the ride and slide passes because it is the cheapest way to go and it lets you go into both the park and Soak City both days at any time, it leaves all doors open.

What do you recommend then for good lodging in the park then? Cause I wanted to stay somewhere in the park, and then use ride and slide passes i guess since that is what everyone recommends. So with ride and slide passes for 2 days, you could stay at cedar point ride part the whole day on both days and skip soak city?

I recommend Lighthouse Point, a very nice place. There are cottages (on the lake) and cabins (inland) they both hold about 5 or 6 people. I wouldn't go in with a plan, say day 1 is Cedar Point, day 2 is Soak City. Just go with the flow. Maybe start in the park when it opens, then say maybe around 4 you get warm and feel like going to Soak City. It's basically whatever happens.

Raptor 45, you can not experience all that is Cedar Point in 1 day. The best place to stay is Hotel Breakers which is only 100 feet from the back entrance to the park and next to Soak City. Definatley get the ride and slide tickets. Cedar Point is much more than coasters take your time and walk around the park.

So how should we do that? Reserve a place beforehand at Lighthouse point or Hotel Breakers and then buy the ride and slide tickets at the gate? Or order them before or where should we get them?

Call Cedar Point and book it, at least that's what we did, or you can book online. I believe it is a package deal, including tickets.

I recommended Lighthouse Point, DSShives recommended Hotel Breakers. It all depends what you prefer. Hotel Breakers is a hotel, obviously. Lighthouse Point has cabins and cottages, very different from the usual hotel experience. In the cottages you can be right near the lake, looking out on it. Or with the cabins, they are in a circle around a pond. Cabins have a bedroom, a living room with 2 foutons, and a loft. Cottages have a bedroom with a bed and bunkbeds and a couch in the living area with no loft.

You can get discounted tickets at the Hotel Breakers lobby. I'm not sure what the cost is as my wife and I have season passes. You could always call the Breakers and ask how much the tickets are.

Oh, and by the way, Im 6'4 205 lbs and never have a problem riding TTD or Millie.

If we get ride and slide tickets, then we basically get 4 tickets, 2 cedar point tickets (1 day one and 1 day 2) same way with soak city right? But if we decide not to go over to soak city, our cedar point tickets are valid to stay all day at cedar point all day both days right? I mean if we decide not to go to the water park?

You got it. When I got a ride and slide in 2003 I never went near Soak City. I'm getting ride and slide for when I'm there in 4 weeks (from today :)) and I intend on trying both parks out.

I am the same height and build, and when I was there in June I could easily go on everything. Just ride Magnum in the front row of the car because that row has the most leg room(after 1 ride ull know why you need the room).

Now I can proudly chant "We're No. 16!" Thank you Cubs for allowing me to live my dream.

if youre used to Worlds of Fun, then CP will blow you away. once you get a taste of CP, most other parks seem downright microscopic! nothing against WoF, i was just there yesterday, but they are two totally different experiences.

by the way if you go to WoF, why not get a 2-park season pass there for $95, then you have unlimited use of CP + SC for the rest of the year, not to mention WoF! i usually get a group of people together to go to KC in the spring to do this, then we make 3 or 4 trips to CP throughout the year (we live in IL) its totally worth it.

I am going the 18th and 19th and lighthouse point is all booked up. There are rooms available at Breakers, Sandcastle Suits, Castaway Bay, and Breakers Express, if you have a tight budget. The ride and slide is the way to go, best bang for the buck. And the suggestion to go with the flow, do CP in the morning, SS in the afternoon, then back to CP in the evening works out great. Go and have a great time at the "Best park on the planet."

First trip June 23rd

I'd have to recommend the Hotel Breakers. It's so close to the park, and plus it's a fun hotel to just walk around and meet people. Also, like everyone said, get the 2 day ride and slide. Another recommendation I have is go to Soak City. I was always against going, because I didn't want to lose valuable Coaster Time; but going for two days gives you plenty of time to check out Soak City. Plus, you can meet up with a lot of half-naked ladies, which would probably be fun since its just you and your friend, not your mom/girlfriend/sister.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

Sean, I like your idea! Unfortunately when I go, I'm going with my mom AND my sister, AND my aunt.
