Question for Jeff about Mean Streak??

Jeff,

Any ideas what CP plans to do with MS? A while back I have heard a rumor that Intamin may retrack it with their new track! I hope this would turn out to be true! And if they do use it would they replace the trains with Intamin train since MF has a much better restraint system where the lapbar stays put versus the PTC (Oh wait I guess the PTC ratcheting lapbars on MS are the good ones with the strong springs) but still I have a feeling that the same kind of trains on Heide Park's Colossos would still be better train for MS than the PTC IF they replace the track with the new style of track.

PTC didn't do Mean Streak, they did Blue Streak.  Curtis D. Summers, Inc. did Mean Streak.

Mean Streak Uses PTC trains though. The new PTC bars on Blue Streak are great and Mean Streak needs those.

Oh ok.  Finally someone who appreciates the new lap bars on Blue Streak like I do.  I don't give a rat's hoo ha about the airtime capability of the old ones that the ride had before '96 or whatever, they hurt.  The new ones are comfy.  Yay! New lap bars.

Gormandize it! Or Whatever, just do something with it :).
Blue Streaks newer lap bars (1993) suck beyond words.   The old bar was great, didn't hurt, and allowed huge airtime. The seats were soft padded unlike the rock hard crap thats in them now. It destroyed a classic. ACE droped it from its classic list as well. Good job ACE! Your right.

All Blue Streak needs is new PTC M. flyer trians and remove the trims on the back run. That would make it a instant classic once again, not to mention a much better ride.

Mean Streak is beyond help.  Even if it was retracked, the structure would still shake. It's a design flaw. What can I say, Its a Summers...That should say it all. Get rid of it.

Use it for the Bon fire for the CP employee Christmas party

Toofast, a couple corrections and opinions.  Blue Streak is running great.  All they need to do is to remove the hard seatbacks, add some grab bars, and it's all set.  There are no trims on Blue Streak.  Mean Streak, on the other hand, needs help in several areas.  A GCI Millennium Flyer train would definitely help, as would removing the drop trims.  Minimally, they need to remove the hard seatbacks and grease the rails on a regular basis, period.

...also, weren't the cars retrofitted in 1996, not 1993?

All it takes to be an ace classic is single position lapbars and no seat dividers, thats it, so it being taken off the list is no great deal if you ask me.

I keep wondering why everyone thinks that the Intamin track for woodies will actually be smoother.  Its built to be swapped out easier but that means nothing on feel.  My vote is get GCI and Clair Hain to retrack it and put the Flyer trains on.

Oh well still no biggy, but ya can't beat the feeling of those single position lap bars though, I never really think they actually did much lol. Cyclops at Big Chiefs is just insane with its single position lap bar, I would hate to ride it without a seatbelt.
