I had ridden TC last year (almost 2 years now) for the 8th grade trip at the end of the year with my friend Moe (short for Morgan). I knew that I would get wet and I had taken off my glasses and so did she. When we had gotten on the ride. It was all fine until about half way into the ride, Moe put her glasses back on. We went underneath a waterfall and both of us did not know that her glasses fell off. Actually, I did not even notice she put them back on. We had gotten off the ride and I had put mine on and when she noticed she did not have hers anymore, she started freaking out. We went back to the ride platform and they weren't there. Moe pretty much lost her glasses at CP. Her parents did not care. So I'd say it was fun, but a bad at the same time. (sorry it's so long) *** Edited 9/25/2006 11:58:06 AM UTC by ltparkmaster***

I rode the TC at Dorney four consecutive times in July (three without getting off) and there's pretty much no chance of staying dry on that thing. And it seemed that the rapids got more intense each time. :)
Go Cubbies!

I will never ride another type of ride like TC ever again. I was on the Popeyes Pluto Blunge ( i think thats what it called) at IOA. We rode it the first time without getting wet so we hoped back in like and got soaked to wear we had to change are cloths. Then the same thing happened to me on TC. *** Edited 9/26/2006 12:59:24 AM UTC by FPWarriors20***
Several years back some friends and I road TC two times in a row, and both times the boat rotated perfectly to where I barely got misted, but the rest of the boat got soaked. It's just the luck of the spin.

The first time I rode it, I came off completely dry. So I assumed that that was normal. The next year, I convinced friends to go on it with me, even though none of us wanted to be wet, since it was chilly out that day. Needless to say, we were all soaked and walked around in wet jeans for the rest of the day and the 3 hour bus ride home. They weren't happy.
Are you sure this isn't the Atlantic Ocean?
GO TIGERS!
It's been my experience that you have about a 50% chance of staying dry on Thunder Canyon.
Redwingchik, I had a laugh when I read your signature. I was standing on the Mean Streak platform once when a person said to her friend, "look how beautiful the ocean looks from here!"
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
off-topic, but on my last trip to the point in August, there was a grown man behind me on the Magnum lift. He said to his kid, "look how pretty the ocean is." ha ha ha ha!! I turned around and told him it was Lake Erie and he was stunned. LOL!!
I second the Popeye's Bilge Rat Barge comment. Five friends and I rode it once after saying "we can't get TOO wet." Well, we did. So, we convinced a few others that "lightning can't strike twice" and that we "can't get soaked two times in a row." Sure enough; lightning did strike twice and we were waterlogged for hours! Man, did that suck...
Last public train of 2005 on MF!
I went on Popeye's Bilge Rat Barge at IOA and like it the first time I went on. We went on and all 4 of us did not get a drop on it. So we got off and went on again and I was soaked like have never been before. I was pouring water out of my shoes and wringing out my socks. It was awful but I should have expected.
