I know I got through unscathed once. For some reason I got it in my head that you don't get wet on the ride and used that "knowledge" to convince one of my friends to ride. Well, as luck (fate?) would have it, we hit every single waterfall. He was not happy, as he didn't want to get wet and I had convinced him to ride.

I've also ridden it without getting wet. Funny story actualy. My sister didn't want to go on it because she said she didn't want to get wet. I convinced her that you had about a 50/50 chance of getting wet or staying mostly dry.
I convinced her to ride, I basrley got wet and she was drenched from head to toe. She was not happy at all. And even though it was about 15 years ago, she still reminds me of it. :)

I've seen many people that get off TC dry, or close to dry, but I seem to always be one of the ones that gets completely drenched. I think TC is a very nice rapids ride as it is quite long.
Kali is an awesome ride, but it is short and you don't get very wet unless you are one of the four riders that get soaked. I was so hot that day I was dying to get wet but I barely got a few sprinkles. Also, they were in the process of shutting the ride down for weather when I was on, so we got stuck at numerous places throughout the ride, including right under the flame part which made it even more hot. The best rapids ride I've been on goes to Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges hands down. Non-stop excitement from beginning to end, and unlike some the rapids are what soaks you not the water falls. TC could have had a bit more rapids added to it.
Thrills Around the Corner!
One year I went on Thunder Canyon on a Sunday. I got on TC with my friends and a family of four who were wearing their sunday best...a shirt and tie for the father and a dress for the mother. I do not think they knew how wet they would get. Anyways, my friends and I got a few splashes, but we missed the water falls. However, the family dressed in their best clothes got off the ride completely soaked. They did not seem upset, but they were very shocked! That's one of those Cedar Point experiences that I will never forget.
I had a stretch of about three years where I could not get wet on TC to save my life. Granted, I don't ride it very often, but this was still about seven or eight rides, with maybe only a little spray around my lower legs. People on either side usually got soaked, and I came out bone-dry. I started bragging about my superpowers... That was my undoing.

It seems that I just get a little spray, and then when we're coming up on that last water fall and the raft isn't turning fast or the right way, suddenly it turns just enough so I get the last water fall. If I haven't gotten wet by then, that is the one that always gets me.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

That is a good ride! Everyone in my boat was drenched, not just a lucky few.
It's always time for a Cedar Point road trip!
Question: Is Thunder Canyon longer or shorter that White Water Canyon at PKI?
