I was wondering if any one knows the qualifications to work the petting zoo!
If there is still going to be one, since MF
is kinda taking over the space.

Thank you.
Yes there will be a petting farm...it will just be slightly relocated and switched around a little. If you knew where the pasture was (where the cows hung out) that is approximately where the barn will be. I will be the ATL at the farm this summer.
Qualifications: love for animals, very important! a few of us are looking into a career with animals, experience being around animals (even if it just your cat or dog) You also need to be able to lift heavy things, and not be afraid of heights (as we climb up into the loft to get hay, bags of corn, etc.) I think the most important thing is have a sincere interest in caring for animals. I knew a couple people who wanted to work at the farm and were not hired.
Are you thinking of applying? If you have any other questions, be sure and let me know!

You have to be 18 years old... if you are thinking of applying, I recommend ASAP before all positions fill up. If you are old enough, it sounds like you would be a great candidate! We had a couple people who just stopped showing up...but ultimately crew was only 8-9 people.
No questions about Pet Check? ;)

Dang it thats the whole reason I wanted to know.
Otherwise I would just wait a year to work the zoos petting zoo. But getting away from home and
probably better pay may change my mind.LOL!!
Although what do you do at Petchek????

You sit in a building all by yourself...for at least 5 hours at a time. Owners sign in and fill out some information, you set up the appropriate size cage with newspaper, food/water if they like. You aren't allowed to play with or walk the dogs. When they leave, you clean out the pens or runs with disinfectant. At the end of the day, floor is cleaned, trash is taken out, and you do some paperwork. It's not hard at all and can get very boring.
Also can be a good time to catch up on reading..or time to take a nap. ;)
